Duncan's pov.
I run to Morgan, the only girl I've ever had true feelings for. The one I can't afford to loose. I need her to understand exactly what just happened. Without the whole plan to ditch her for the guys tomorrow night.
When I catch up to her I can almost feel her heartbreak until- as if she read my mind- she whirls right around to look me in the eyes when she blurts a ramble of stutter from her moist, soft lips.
"I can't believe.., how could you.., I.., I don't know why.., how long have you.., I...."
"Shhhh, baby shhhh. It's not what u think. Courtney just did me a big favor and I thanked her for it...." I coo, but mentally slap myself for wording it like that when she sobs louder. "No babe I meant she agreed to take u on a girls' dag out so that u could have some time to spend alone with your best friend that's all! I figured I've been a little too attached to u lately and that maybe it bothered u so we arranged for u and Courtney to go shopping er whaterver girls do together.. Okay? Nothing like it seemed back there. Alright? I'm sorry baby. I'm sorry u took it that way. I would never do that to you."
"So you're not cheating on me?"
"Oh, baby of course not! I like u better than any girl in this world. Even my mom can't top, boven you!"
"I thought your mother left u when u were a baby?" She zei looking at me skeptically with her brow raised.
"Well, yeah I was raised door my foster parents. But now u definately top, boven my mom! She couldn't put up with me but look at you! Goin' on months now!"
"Aww Duncan! It's been three months, four weeks, and 6 days...."
"Are u counting! Are u counting down the days that u can finally get rid of me?!" I say half- jokingly.
"Nooo! Hehe!" I love Morgan's laugh.
"I love your laugh."
"And I love you,"
Well there it is. The moment I was sure expecting soon. My body goes cold. It's August and I'm frozen. Even the summer morning sun radiating this earth at this very moment cannot thaw this mess I'm in. I watch as her eyes turn sad. Sweat drips down the front of her ear. The dry tears on her face from a few minuten geleden turn wet again and I just stand there while she slowly turns and all I can do is reach out to claw at the empty air behind her.
This time, she is gone for good.
I see Courtney standing out of the corner of my eye. And before I can stop myself, tell myself it's not gonna help at this time, this place, It's too late. I'm already standing before Courtney. I take one last step and pull her waist close to mine. Holding her tightly to me. I smell her vanilla scented hair. Feel the sensation of her body against mine. Needing the moment to last as long as possible. Taking her in. Her escense. Courtney.
The moment of truth..

The moment of truth..
(TDI, TDA and TDWT never happened)
I was toppled over door scrapbooks, ribbons, medailles and a big canvas bag when I opened the closet door. What really caught my eye was the huge canvas sack that almost pulverized my leg. I wrenched myself out and pulled the bag over to my bed. I dug out my little sister's, Cookie's (her real name is Charlise), little plastic "Sheriff" badge and giggled. I placed it down and pulled out an unopened letter that I never have seen before. I opened and read it:
Dear Miss Courtney Langerak,
Thank u for help saving our ranch from MorcuCorp! We really appreciate your concern for all of the horses and the ranch. u are welcome to come here anytime!
From,
Vickie
Barry
Duncan
and the rest of Carousel Ranch!
I ran my fingers over the printed words, especially Duncan's. There was a picture in the envelope of me and Duncan. I now remember how we helped Carousel Ranch like it was yesterday...
