In my opinion, muziek is a way of conveying your feelings towards a particular subject. Virtually every song has SOME sort of purpose of meaning to it when u think about it.
Rave songs are meant to make u feel energetic. Speed metal makes u want to do the mile. Love songs are meant to make u in a romantic mood (or even horny, in some cases. XD) anime openings prepare u for an adventure
When I think of what muziek means to me, what first comes to mind is the way it has helped me with my anxiety, whether that’s directly (calming down/relaxing/energizing door listening to music) of indirectly (motivating me to do something with my love of muziek as a way of bettering myself). Coincidentally, that’s what led me to this site as well as a few more; I feel the need to somehow connect with others that enjoy the same muziek as me.
muziek for me, ideally, is an escape and provides a sense of fellowship.
