Post characters including antagonists who (among several things) u dislike, annoy u, don't care about, etc. but later on feel sorry, bad, and develop sympathy for them

Cummings (Canaan) is one character whom I initially didn't care too much for and about but later on in the series felt quite bad and sorry as well as developed sympathy for him especially how in one scene Liang Qi (whom he deeply adores and cares for) began pistol-whipping Cummings right square in the face. The poor guy too :(

for me he was epic from the start itself...especially that fight with ichigo in north gate.........he was soooo epic..eh he he eh

**SPOILERS!!!!!!** It's from the manga but Akito Sohma (Fruits Basket). I didn't really like her at the start of the manga but from book 17 and onwards I learnt that her mum was really jealous of her since her dad was paying attention to her so she had an abusive and hate-filled childhood. After learning her backstory and reasons for acting the way she did I started to like her more, she's now one of my favourite characters in the series.
