A few days geleden I geplaatst a few vragen on S2E2, "The Once and Future Queen" and received spectacular answers. But I was so taken with the answer door Stacey (EPaws) to vraag 3 that I wanted to frame it! So I'm doing the volgende best thing door posting it here as an article, instead of broken up in several parts as it is on the antwoorden page. Please read and enjoy...I know you'll all love it. A worthy dissertation of the epic kiss that we all love so much door our dynamite couple!

The Once and Future Kiss

The hart-, hart wants what the hart-, hart wants.
Impulsive it might have been, but the impulse comes from somewhere ephemeral. It was the culmination of their time together and other moments shared. It was the tipping point, where emotion supersedes the mind and linear thought, the space that already knows.

In that moment, where they stand a hair’s breadth away from one another with the exchange of token, all the politesse in the world, could not bridge what he felt in his heart. These two actors do what I like to call linger, exceedingly well.
It is the silent, seemingly dormant, spaces that the characters share that is most telling. Examples are myriad in this scene; not the words but the actions speak volumes.

How she steps into his aura. She begins to do that meer and meer frequently, as time progresses and then nonchalantly offers him the thin strip of white muslin.

Note the give and take of the exchange. She gives it, but holds it. He takes it and kind of snags it from her, to break the ties that bind in effect. Look carefully at the thrust and parry motion of both hands as Arthur, tries to take control of the situation, and that is where the actual fail occurs, so to speak, because they touch, however briefly. Their frequencies merge.

That is the actual tipping point, the watershed moment for ARWEN.

These two have been circling each other for days. Like Merlin, Guinevere provides a level of honesty, warmth, ridiculous amounts of candor and yes, acceptance of who he is. Particularly telling was one earlier instance in this episode when Arthur zei he wanted to be treated like everyone else, to be judged on his own merits as being and not bestowed things door attrition and right of rank.

She begins to really look at him then. That is her watershed moment. She actually sees him, despite his feigned arrogance, as being. That is when she actually shifts and moves from admiration to actually being physically aware of him as a male.

Not the Prince, but as a viable male in a companionable way. That is a huge shift of perspective. Compound that with respect, the inherent attraction they feel towards one another and u have the moment.

The kiss, I must say, I give these two ridiculous amounts of credit for. They were on point. It was Pre-Raphaelite, as I like to say. Discounting the music, if u watch it, and the brief moment when the light recedes and they are in the moment, time stops for both. It is in actuality a thank u kiss, the most profound thing u can ever say to another human being u care about. In it is also a recognition kiss of kindred and unbeknownst to both, a promissory kiss, and that is what frightened both.

Unanticipated emotional overload beyond flirtation where for an instant two souls met in accord.

Neither knew what to do with it because something far greater touched them both hence the lingering as both held their breath.

Arthur felt it and was flummoxed. Guinevere felt it too and briefly surrendered to it.
Note how her body followed him, very subtly prolonging, subconsciously attempting, to forestall the severing of that which made them whole.

The linger is what made that kiss resonate with everyone, well beyond the characters portrayed. We were privileged to witness the moment where fate entered with a half smile. In that moment they found that which made them complete.

Arthur yawns and motions for the servant to fill his goblet. The food on his plate is still untouched. He isn’t hungry; in fact he is bored and beside him, his father is enjoying himself with his council members. He looks beyond his father and notices his step mother is engaged with her own group of friends. Sighing, Arthur rues why he agreed to kom bij the feast in the first place. He didn’t want to disappoint his mother even though he knows how boring feasts like this are. And now he wishes he hadn’t promised her. He could be elsewhere right now, enjoying the...

With their asswipe comments, they find amusing they encourage the dysfunctional Merthurs, who bask in death pronouncements and vitriol dedicated to racism, violence and other bullshit. u are not serving the fandom when u make commentaren like u did about the third wheel. No u are not. In fact, u are tonen yourselves to be exactly the same manner of rubbish that u are advocating tacitly.

Now, I don't personally know, other than Murphy at the top, boven of the heap who has a failed Merthur predisposish, but do wrangle yourself and the chimps that u have manning MO Twitter and Facebook, because...

So: There are going to be some difficult and dark parts in here. There will be things u may not enjoy reading. There may be some things u will HATE reading. All I ask is that u trust me and stick with me. Don’t kill me. See it through. I promise it will all be okay. Okay? Okay.

-Guinevere-

“You have suffered much for one so young,” Helios says, seemingly sympathetic to Gwen’s fabricated tale of a murdered family and her flight. “Now those days are truly behind you,” he adds decisively, lifting his goblet to his lips. He drinks, eyeing her appreciatively...

Arthur slipped quietly out of the castle, wearing his familiar ‘incognito cloak’ over his white shirt. He had first worn it when hiding out at Guinevere’s house during the Tourney, the first time he realised how much he felt for her and the first time he had kissed her sweet lips. Since then there had been many a visit to her house in the dead of night. He had been stopped and challenged many times door the guards, until they grew to recognise his cloak.

As he made his way the short distance the moon was full.

He tapped on her door gently, a familiar combination of taps which she knew. As...

•James Callis and I wish there had been meer of him.
•Cinematography was phenomenal

•Kilgharrah has family and adorable family too.

•The Druids make an appearance and I love them.

•The introduction of the Treiskelion (Celtic Symbol) it is about vooruit, voorwaarts motion (mankind’s that is). It is a dynamic symbol of growth, progression, war before tranquility…back to the darkest uur theme.

It is also the ancient symbol of the Trinity lolol. If u interpret it spiritually: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. If u do so symbolically: Love, Intellect, Power.

There is a holy Trinity in...

“It is always darkest just before the dag dawneth.”

This phrase often ascribed to the English Theologian Fuller is so apropos for this episode thematically. We partook of zei dark uur tonight and it was glorious. Not because of magical beasts ie hormonally imbalanced rodents of the dentally challenged variety, with strong affections for Sir Gwaine, but because it spoke to the hart-, hart of compassion, those who actually have it and those who don’t; those who are selfless and those who are selfless; those who have courage and those who snip and bite at wounds in a roundabout way like what...

Our hearts and condolences go out to the people of Norway at this tragic time with the killing of 90 people, mostly young teenagers enjoying a camping trip as well as those killed in the bombing in the capital, Oslo.

I hope we can all pray for them and hope that we can avoid such tragedies in the future.

Also, the sad death of Amy Winehouse, a promising young singer of only 27 years old. A sad but inevitable death due to her unfortunate addictions. She was a great singer and had so much to live for at her tender age but alas took the wrong path.

All in all, it has been a sad weekend in two Continents....
