Bonne-Bell Great article, Stacey. I didn't know that's what the Treiskelion represented. Yes, that scene with Arthur was hot but I also saw the baptism symbolism behind it and appreciated it even more for that. As for the fanservice scenes, I found some of it to be cringeworthy and so juvenile. It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the episode but still I want more maturity in the development of the MA relationship and less of these juvenile, slapstick scenes.

EPaws Word. A few of my friends were discussing this privately. We concur with what you have said. Also, if you really look at it, B&C are not feeling it AT ALL. They are going through the motions. Gone is the real comic organic feel of such scenes and it is particularly marked in Bradley of himself. He is simply getting it done. I think it is time for them to grow this dynamic up and keep the BROTP but make it work according to their positions and bearing. They have two fantastic actors, work with it. Stop being so...well, childish and obvious. Dear god. The fanbase that has grown 80 fold, isn't the same fanbase for the most part when it was a niche litte veritical show with a limited reach. Meaning the majority of those watching now, are not the same people as S1 and S2. They are betting on the wrong group.

Bonne-Bell Indeed. Now, I like seeing Bradley's body as much as the next fangirl and I was actually looking forward to the dropped trousers scene until I saw how it happened. Did Merlin really need to embarass Arthur like that in front of the council members? It's fine if the writers want to throw a bone at slashers but does it have to be so heavy-handed and forced?

Itasmallworld I'm in agreement with both of you, EPaws and Bonnie-Bell. I was slightly amused, but I want some new jokes between Arthur and Merlin. I seen the same stunt jokes and it's becoming repetitive.

kbrand5333 Just watched, and I agree 100% with everything you ladies have said. I felt SO BAD for Merlin through the entire episode! Gaius was mad at him, Arthur seemed to have forgotten that Merlin is his Loyal Friend, and the knights were just mean to him. (And my baby Percival got shot! Oh, the horror!) The last scene where he hatched the dragon, though: Out. Standing. Beautiful. Glorious. Marvelous acting on Colin's part, as he was looking at NOTHING while filming that (and, I assume, has not had any children of his own and therefore knows nothing about the mystery and wonder that is bringing a new life into the world). On the whole, I was disappointed in this week's offering and my opinion has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the fact that there was no Arwen. You can do better, writing staff.

Bonne-Bell The knights bullying Merlin and Arthur allowing it to go on really upset me. Also why was Gwaine joining in with the bullying when he used to get upset when Arthur treated Merlin badly? Yeah, that drawing would make a nice tatoo.

Nasty_Nat The comic scene between B&C was badly done for my taste. Lack imagination if you compare the previous seasons. Merlin embarrassing The King like that. Don't get me started with Gaius, yelling at him for what. Damn it, he's the Last DragonLord for godsake. He has the right to react that way. And also Arthur and his Knights humiliated and like Bonnie said bullying him for no reason. I felt like just because they are knights they have the right to treat merlin that way. Remember most of them are commoners so in a way the same level as Merlin except for Sir Leon, noble blood. I felt bad for him and he's always nice to them no matter what. Anyways. I will stop there before I get carried away. About the symbolism of that episode thank you Stacey for that article. I didn't know about the Treiskelion represented, but it made sense. And I will for sure do some research about it. Ep4 represented the rebirth of Camelot, New King and Queen, Merlin and his knights. Aithusa representing the New Beginning of Merlin Arthur destinies and the future of Camelot. I love when he/she stood tall and open his/her winds in front of Merlin knowing clearly what he/she represents. That was a moment. That dragon is so beautiful and Merlin's reaction priceless. Thar scene gave chills, Colin did an excellent job of it. When I saw that scene, I automatically thought of baptism and I can see that I wasn't the only one. I also I didn't think about how hot he look like after being all socked with water I was to busy paying attention to details like I always do when I watch that show. I don't want to miss any little details or frame or reactions. Don,t get me wrong Brad is fine looking man, but after watching ep3 and be a bit disappointed about the editing. I concentrated myself on this episode. Anyways, that's my take on it. And Yes Bonnnie that would make an amazing tatoo.
