The volgende morning, John gently woke Lydia. He said, "I just talked with your father. He made the funeral arrangements. Family and vrienden will be received from 1:00-3:00 tomorrow afternoon. The funeral will be at 5:00 that evening, and the graveside service will be the volgende morning." She said, "Okay. I guess we better get ready to head up the road." Lydia, John, and their vrienden made the trip to Virginia. Lydia and John's vrienden got to meet Lydia's parents. Lydia's mother zei to Pattie, "Lydia talks about u all the time." Pattie blushed and said, "Good things, I hope." Lydia's mother said, "Always." She even took a liking to Gavin's Liverpool accent. She sat close to him at avondeten, diner just to hear him talk. The volgende day, at the funeral home, Lydia went up to the coffin to see her grandmother one last time. She missed her grandmother already. She decided to go off to be alone. Just then, she heard Pattie's voice. "There u are, Lydia." She said. Lydia asked, "Were u looking for me." Pattie said, "Yeah. How are u holding up?" Lydia broke down and cried. Pattie hugged Lydia and said, "Be strong. I'm here for you." Lydia zei through tears, "I miss her already. She was the woman who took care of my dogs when I went on vacation. She was the woman who taught me how to whistle. Now she's gone." Pattie said, "I didn't know u could whistle." Lydia dried her tears and whistled the tune of "Strawberry Fields Forever". Pattie said, "You're really good." Lydia said, "Thanks. At least, my grandmother will live on through me." They then heard Gavin's voice. "You even favor her in your appearance, love." He said. Catherine added, "You really do." Marie added, "I see where u get your pretty hair." Lydia said, "Well, thank you." John added, "Your grandmother was a beautiful woman, and u are, too." He kissed Lydia. She didn't know what to say, so she kissed him back. Rebecca said, "Aw! That was so sweet!" Lydia felt comfort, being surrounded door people she loved. She knew that they loved her, too.

TO BE CONTINUED...
I wear a mask,
Around those I'm not close to.
It's the only thing,
That I can think to do.
To some I may seem cynical and arrogant,
And others see me laugh and act like a clown.
The truth is that I am down.
Beneath this mask,
My tears fall like rain.
Though I do not cheat and usually don't lie,
I have feelings and can cry.
What they will never know,
I am in so much pain.
It's a miracle I'm even sane.
If not for my friends,
There'd be no one there,
Because I'm the queen,
Of onbeantwoord prayers.
Even extended family will never see,
The real me.
I say to them,
I wear a mask around you,
Because to cry in your presence,
Is the worst thing I could do.
My mask only comes off,
For immediate family and friends.
That's how it'll always be,
Until the end.
Around those I'm not close to.
It's the only thing,
