It's fine if you're working in the food, entertainment or retail industry (that doesn't require uniforms or specific dress codes), but when it comes to healthcare, therapy, law, engineering, it's best if that's left at home.

That's kind of my stance too. The way I see it, a minimum wage job has no right to dictate how a person looks. It's a shit job for shit pay so minimum effort in appearance should be allowed.

Last comment before I temporarily self-exile from fanpop lol

I'm not sure I agree with the principle, but I do understand, link attire in the workplace cannot be "political campaigning" for a specific nominee or party (Trump hats, Biden shirts) but other statements that are not campaigning for a political party are allowed (BLM, LGBT colours, etc).

Even that aside, I would argue that BLM is not about "politics" but about justice, and LGBT stripes are a form of personal expression.

But generally, workers should be allowed to wear political statements, unless they work in fields in which this actually affects their work (eg. a barrister wouldn't be allowed to wear a political statement into a court room). Agree with @zan that a minimum wage job has no right to dictate how a person looks.

I can agree with that comment. Though I think that in some work places it would depend on the clothing article; like if you’re in an office that requires business casual attire a Bernie or MAGA T shirt doesn’t cut it. But a necklace or bracelet is probably fine.

That’s also why I lean more towards no plus you’re representing a company. But on the other hand I also think that it’s shitty that work place get to dictate how you look. Which would be fine if you didn’t have to spend the majority of your time there and if you want something that can’t jus be taken off and put back on like a tattoo or dyed hair.
