I almost picked the "disrespect those who disrespect me" option, but after my initial irritation when I find their lack of respect for me, I tend to get over it rather quickly.

If those who don't respect my lack of faith want to condemn me to hell, judge me, and call me evil, then I bet that's all sorts of fun for them. Feeds the superiority complex. But be wary of the "J" word ("Judge" not "Jesus") as it may get you into trouble with your big guy some day. But it won't get you in trouble with me, in the long run.

I don't respect their religious beliefs, but that doesn't make me not respect the person.

acctualy if they don't respect me i just don't talk to them, and with most of my friends with difering views we avoid the topic.

i don't have a lack of faith as such, but i don't fully think anyone has it fully right. people are entitled to there own beliefs & as long as other people don't get hurt by it i say let them be.

if someone tries to put there believes on to me they clearly don't respect mine and that is the only time i will not respect someone else view unless of course their believe involve hurting people (cults terrorists ect)

Although I do disrespect people who disrespect other people's religious beliefs.

Right. See top of comments. I can respect a person while not respecting their belief. It is few and far between, mind you... but there have been one or two who I have met that walked the walk instead of just spouting crap. Those folks I respect deeply, even if I do not believe.

and even then its not over religion but people who i disrespect. I would only have ago at religion if it is blatently stupid! and thats why people think im racist or what have you, but im not i just belive that we shouldn't shy away from saying when religion is causing problems in the world. Just my opinion

I always have. Most of my friends are not the same religious beliefs as myself.

I don't particularly care if someone disrespects me, but I get very defensive of other people.

It really depends on the belief. I would never disrespect the person, but there are some beliefs that I can't respect. If someone says, "It's in my religion to: circumcise girls/hang gay people/allow a person to rape my daughter" I'm not able to respect that. But in most cases I can respect someone's belief.

Well my religion actually makes it quite clear that you've GOT TO respect others.

This was hard, but the one I chose was the closest, actually no, the other one was...oh, well.

I personally love all types of religions, it's what makes the world wonderful.

I believe it is unfair for a person to try to convert someone, just because of their religion.

Hmmmm, well, I am always tolerant of all religions, but I don't know if I actually respect people who hold beliefs that I find silly.

First of all, I don't understand the line between respecting the person but not their beliefs, because your beliefs are what make you the person you are, surely?

Still, I have met people who are really lovely, and I become really great friends with them, but then they start talking to me about Jesus died for our sins, or how they can't eat dairy with meat, or how they saw this ghost last night, and I guess I do lose some respect for them.

So I guess I still respect the person, just not quite as much as I otherwise would have.

But you best not be disrespectin' me. ;)

If you don't respect me, I won't give any respect in return. Happens a lot when I discuss religion.

I am a Moslem and I respect all religions.

I am Catholic, however I will never tell anyone that they're religion is invalid or something of the sort. In fact I'm actually going to be taking a class on Buddhism and Hinduism, I've done a fair share of research on pagan religions; I think it's important to learn about religions outside your own.
