Time period for Mulan

The original story of Mulan was set during the Northern Wei dynasty (386 - 534), so I am guessing in the Disney version the story takes place at about the same time period.

Seeing as the Great uithangbord of China was built door the current Emperor and the Emperor seems quite old, I'd say late Qin (although it saddens me to think that the kind old emperor was in fact Shi Huangdi, one of the ancient world's cruelest leaders).

I asked someone this vraag before. The original tale too place in Northern Wei Dysnasty. In Disney version, the Great uithangbord was built and judging how people dressed door then, it was set in Ming Dynasty.
