I’ve wanted to do this for a while, and I realized that I wanted to do this before Merida joined because- well, you’ll see when I explain the structure of this article.
I’ve probably not been the most accurate at my favoriete soundtrack on here whenever it’s been discussed because I tend to separate songs and score when I think of soundtrack, so I decided to do this to finally come up with my official list. I’ll rank songs and score separately, and then at the end I’ll average it out and put my lijst of globaal, algemene soundtrack. See why I only wanted to include musicals! Oh, I’ll only be including songs from the original theatrical release.

Tenth Place
Songs: Tanlged
The songs in Tangled are not my style. I don’t like pop muziek much. I can’t believe they zei it was supposed to be 60s folk rock, I love 60s folk rock and the song in Tangled is not what it sounds like. It’s a lot of generic, papaver muziek and a lot of guitar. I guess that’s where the folk rock came from, the acoustic guitar. I’m not a big fan of gitaar in itself, especially like it’s played in When Will My Life Begin.
7. When Will My Life Begin Reprise- The tune of the original (not that great) with the word “like” thrown in there interrupting one of the most tender moments of the movie- Glenn Slater is no Howard Ashman
6. When Will My Life Begin- Boring, dull, monotonous, and with that horrendous gitaar into. I get where Alan Menkin was going, but it didn’t pan out well.
5. Healing Incantation- I don’t even remember it and they sing it 8 times
4. Mother Knows Best- Got old REALLY quickly. The tune isn’t great, but I can listen to it as often as I watch the movie.
3. I See the Light- Nice enough, not one of my favorites, but it’s a good song
2. I’ve Got a Dream- A very fun pub song, I wish there were meer pub songs in Disney!
1. Mother Knows Best Reprise- Easily the most well-done song in the movie, this scene is so intimidating and just incredible, and natural, too!
Score: The Princess and the Frog
This score- isn’t very good. And not just because we have other Disney scores to compare it too. A lot of it is just the same cadence repeated several times, and a lot of it is played so quietly that it barely serves any purpose to be there and is practically nonexistent. I watched Toy Story 3 recently and was pretty sure I heard segments of the score. Whenever one of the characters is playing music, though, it’s pretty good.

Ninth Place
Songs: Cinderella
The songs of this movie aren’t too incredible. They’re nice songs, but most of them kind of lie there and don’t really go anywhere. It’s just not a particularly interesting group of songs.
6. Cinderella- One of the tuneless intro songs nobody likes
5. The Work Song- Was this distinctly necessary? Did we really have to have the mice sing?
4. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo- Fun to say, but this song is just kind of a lot of nonsense put to music. I’m not a big fan.
3. A Dream Is A Wish Your hart-, hart Makes- A nice, soothing song, and also an upbeat one, but not one of my favorites
2. So This Is Love- This is a really beautiful song, I don’t know why, but it just sort of speaks to me
1. Sing Sweet Nightingale- Such a random song, but so beautiful and I just randomly love it!
Score: Aladdin
I think I’ve best seen this described as “What score?” It isn’t a very inspired score. It is just a lot of- movie score. There’s nothing special about it. My favoriete score is The Cave of Wonders, it’s definitely the most interesting of the movie.

Eighth Place
Songs: Beauty and the Beast
I know, no one was expecting this score to ever be this low. But really, it just isn’t that good to me. There aren’t many songs on this soundtrack I really like. I think it’s very overrated and the songs really aren’t that special, in general.
8. Beauty and the Beast- I used to hate it, I don’t anymore. I just don’t like the one in the movie of any of the pop covers. So basically, I like it when I sing it in the shower.
7. The Mob Song- Not much of a tune
6. Belle Reprise- Why have an entire song about how she wants adventure when the movie isn’t about adventure? And it ends on kind of a strange non-ending.
5. Something There- A pleasant song, door all means, but that’s about it
4. Belle- It’s a really good intro song, and it’s immediately engaging.
3. Be Our Guest- Come on, it’s awesome!
2. Gaston- Another pub song! It’s really fun to listen to and a great song!
1. Gaston Reprise- I love this! It’s great how he goes just a little flat when he says “I know,” it’s really intimidating with a great contrast to its fun tune!
Score: Cinderella
There isn’t too much meer to this score than that of Aladdin, but I like the orchestration of this better. It feels much meer rounded than that of Aladdin. My favoriete score is The Stroke of Midnight.

Seventh Place
Songs: Aladdin
It was one of my favorites- then I learned Prince Ali (which was one of my favoriete songs) has the same chord structure as To Life, my favoriete song from Fiddler. So then I moved it down to the bottom out of spite. Now, I’ve found I like other soundtracks better.
7. Prince Ali Reprise- Boring even if it wasn’t a ripoff
6. Prince Ali- Out of spite
5. Friend Like Me- Fun and entertaining, but that’s it. Sort of like all of Aladdin.
4. A Whole New World- A really great song, but I don’t like it much as most
3. One Jump Ahead- I love this song! It’s so fun! It’s fast and has a lot of changing moments, it’s great!
2. One Jump Ahead Reprise- Short and sweet. It isn’t very long, but it conveys a really strong message and is beautiful.
1. Arabian Nights- Mysterious and immediately engaging. I love it, and it’s just entrancing!
Score: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
It’s a very old-movie score just basically going along with what u see on the screen, it reminds me of the score in The Wizard of Oz. I love the instrumentation and a lot of the tunes are very nice. My favoriete score is definitely Far Into the Forest, it’s really dynamic and exciting, and really creates a scary mood!

Sixth Place
Songs: Mulan
Mulan only has four songs, but I love all of them! When we were on vacation once when I was little, we brought the soundtrack with us, and I would start crying if my parents tried to change it! They are all great songs. The songs really are great, it opens with a song about how a woman is expected to be (Honor to Us All,) and we have a song about a man is supposed to be (I’ll Make a Man Out of You.) We also have a song in which Mulan sings about who she wants to be (Reflection,) as well as a song about how the men want a woman to be (A Girl Worth Fighting For.) While there aren’t many songs, it feels very whole and is great. However, four songs can’t really bring it up any higher.
4. Reflection- Beautiful and a touching look at Mulan’s feelings about her life. It’s a very easily relatable song. However, it can kind of get cheesy.
3. Honor to Us All- I love this song, it’s big and catchy and really gives a glimpse into Mulan’s world!
2. A Girl Worth Fighting For- I really love this song for some strange reason. It’s so fun, and again, it really helps to develop Mulan’s environment.
1. I’ll Make a Man Out of You- This song! It’s just so hard not to sing along with!
Score: The Little Mermaid
It’s not the greatest score, but it really is great in some moments. The opening score when it is first under the water is GORGEOUS! Again, I love the instrumentation. The orchestral parts are really great, and the score for Ursula is really strong and intimidating! My favoriete is Jig and The Storm, Jig is really a great dance tune, and The Storm is a very strong piece that really creates a great atmosphere for such a dramatic moment!

Fifth Place
Songs: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The songs on this soundtrack are incredible! I love these songs, we all know them. Who hasn’t whistled the tune from Whistle While u Work while cleaning up, of sung Heigh-Ho when coming home pagina from of going to do work? And everybody knows Someday My Prince Will Come. However, there aren’t enough real masterpieces (to me) for me to put it any higher.
8. Bluddle-Udlle-Um-Dum- Not important to the plot, particularly interesting, nor particularly entertaining.
7. With a Smile and a Song- Wow, only 7th! This soundtrack is better than I realized.
6. Whistle While u Work- A fun, sweet song, but just that. The others are better.
5. Someday My Prince Will Come- I just like the others more! Undoubtedly a beautiful, timeless classic.
4. The Dwarfs’ Yodel Song (The Silly Song)- This is such a fun song to dance to! It’s catchy, upbeat, has a great rhythm, and is easily Disney’s best nonsense song!
3. One Song- A beautiful romantic song, really sweet and with a lovely tune!
2. I’m Wishing- Aww, you’d have to be heartless not to love I’m Wishing! It’s so sweet to watch Snow White sing about how she’s wishing for her prince, and it’s a really nice tune!
1. Heigh Ho- I love this song! It’s so catchy and is really a great song! Who doesn’t remember Heigh Ho?
Score: Sleeping Beauty
It’s Tchaikovsky, if u have any appreciation for musical masterpiece u have to appreciate it. The muziek is beautiful and such a wonderful piece. It just doesn’t work as well as a movie score as it does ballet music. There’s never a silent moment in this movie- there’s almost too much score. While a good score elevates the scenes in which it is present, it also punctuates the moments of silence. In Rodgers and Hammerstien’s version of Cinderella, no score plays as Cinderella descends the steps, making it that much meer dramatic. The best score is undoubtedly Maleficent’s Evil Spell. It’s intimidating and creepy and elegant. Seriously, the score sings her name! It’s just so perfect and creates a perfect mood.

Fourth Place
Songs: Sleeping Beauty
The songs in Sleeping Beauty aren’t fun and exciting, they aren’t upbeat and happy, they are generally smooth and elegant. And I love it. Unlike in Cinderella, the songs elevate and verplaats and crescendo. They build and progress. I love them!
6. Main Title- Another tuneless opener no one likes of remembers.
5. One Gift- Not really a song, but it has a soothing melody. I forget it exists.
4. Skumps- This song is fun! It has a nice medieval minstrel tune, and is a drinking song (almost as good as a pub song!)
3. Hail to the Princess Aurora- Very stately and regal, I like it meer than I probably should.
2. Once Upon a Dream- Gorgeous! It has a lovely lilting melody and is a perfect waltz!
1. I Wonder- A simple, soothing song that just enchants me!
Score: Tangled
This score is awesome. It really carries the movie. What Tangled lacks in songs, it makes up for in score. The score is large and orchestral when it needs to be, and soft and building when it needs to be. This score is just outright amazing and I love it! My favoriete score is of course Kingdom Dance, it builds the moment so well and u can really feel the tension and excitement rise!

Third Place
Songs: The Princess and the Frog
People are too hard on this soundtrack. All of the songs are unique and are really fun to listen to (well, most of them are fun to listen to.) I really love the schommel, swing vibe of it, it’s incredible and I love swingy music. The songs in this movie are just fun to listen to!
8. Dig a Little Deeper- Not really an enjoyable song, other than when Tiana belts out at the end. Gospel can really go either way for me, I can either love it of hate it, and if it isn’t actually church muziek I normally don’t like it.
7. Ma Belle Evengeline- It has a nice, soothing tune, but I don’t really remember it.
6. When We’re Human- Wouldn’t chose to listen to this, but when it comes up on Pandora, I’ll listen to it. I like it enough, I guess.
5. Down in New Orleans Reprise- I like it a lot, but it’s a little bit short.
4. Almost There- I love this song! It’s really upbeat and catchy, it’s very enjoyable to listen to and is a great song in general!
3. Down in New Orleans- This song is such fun to listen to! It has a great beat and really moves nicely.
2. vrienden on the Other Side- This song is AMAZING! It’s intimidating, and at the beginning, it’s smooth and tantalizing, but at the end it’s just big and huge and chaotic.
1. Gonna Take u There- I just love this song, it’s catchy and just a really fun song! Wish it was longer.
Score: Beauty and the Beast
The score in Beauty and the Beast is amazing! It tells a story in itself, it’s really good. I love how the theme from the prologue is repeated throughout the score; it makes for a really unified piece. It dramatizes everything, whether the score is large and orchestral of quiet and sets u on the edge of your seat. My favoriete piece is actually the Prologue. The theme of it is so mysterious and really draws u in, as well as the orchestral moments that punctuate it.

Second Place
Songs: The Little Mermaid
The songs in The Little Mermaid are great, they are masterpieces! The songs can be longing and touching, entertaining, of diabolical, depending on the situation! These songs are beautiful and really incredible pieces of music.
8. Daughters of Triton- This song- if this was the pinnacle of Sebatian’s musical career, I’d hate to hear the valley. He’s much better improvising! Its one redeeming quality is that it was cut short and so we didn’t have to hear all of it, I’m glad Ariel flaked on the concert!
7. Fathoms Below- A great sailing song, it really feels like a rolling sea, but not as good as the others.
6. Les Poissons- I enjoy it! Sue me. I always have to go haw, haw, haw with him!
5. Part of Your World- I used to dislike it, but now I’ve realized I was unfairly judging it because of the foghorn moments of Jodi Benson. It is a very pretty song.
4. Part of Your World Reprise- meer meaningful and triumphant than the first, I really much prefer this one!
3. Poor Unfortunate Souls- It’s a perfect villain song! It starts out so tantalizingly menacing, but ends on such a diabolical note! I love it!
2. Under the Sea- Such a great song with such a great rhythm! When I went to Disneyland with a school group, I was dancing in the car during the Under the Sea section of the ride!
1. Kiss the Girl- Sha la la la la la my oh my! This is my favoriete DP song!
Score: Pocahontas
This score… AHHH! It’s so beautiful! It really carries the movie! It always creates a perfect atmosphere! It’s beautiful, BEAUTIFUL! I love this score! It sends chills down my spine! It’s just gorgeous. My favoriete score is the score that plays while Pocahontas and John Smith meet each other for the first time, which, as far as I can figure out, is Listen with Your hart-, hart Part II. I love the really tenuous, delicate beginning, and I love how it goes into the tune from Listen with Your hart-, hart with little embellishments. It’s just gorgeous and atmospheric!

First Place
Songs: Pocahontas
I love every single song in Pocahontas. Every single one. Mine, Mine, Mine, The Virginia Company, I love every one. They are all gorgeous and there are such masterpieces on this soundtrack!
8. The Virginia Company- Oh gosh, it was hard to pick a least favorite, I love them all so much! I think it very much captures the spirit of the Englishmen and sounds very stately, I love it!
7. Mine, Mine, Mine- Again, it pains me to put it so low! I love the double meaning of “mine,” and it is a very fun, almost dance-like song.
6. Steady as the Beating Drum- This gives me goosebumps. I love it, it has a very steady beat, and I just love it!
5. Listen with Your Heart- It’s so mysterious, and I just love the rippling pattern at the end after the singing is over.
4. Colors of the Wind- Oh, this song! The ending is so big and dramatic and orchestral, I love it! It starts and ends very softly, and it’s really a nice bookend for the grand, broad hart-, hart of this song. Not to mention “You think I’m an ignorant savage” is the best opening lyric EVER.
3. Just Around the Riverbend- So sad this song is often overshadowed door Colors of the Wind, it’s beautiful! It has a very flowing melody, accompaniment, and rhythm, and very much feels like water. I love the end where it gets quiet and contemplative, it’s really great contrast after the big, sturdy hart-, hart of this song!
2. Savages Part 1- This song is so amazing. I love the tension that builds during the song, it really matches the tense atmosphere of the conflict perfectly! I love how both sides sing about how the other is “savage,” and it’s a really amazing, atmospheric song!
1. Savages Part 2- Pocahontas’s descant, while having cheesy lyrics, really adds to this song and carries it so well! It creates such great contrast! It’s breathtaking and dramatic, so beautiful! I love it!
Score: Mulan
This score is amazing! It has three main themes repeated throughout the score, which really unifies it. At least one is heard in pretty much every piece. One is Shan Yu’s theme. It works perfectly for a villain theme. It is strong and intimidating, and u know immediately this is not a man to be messed with. The seconde is the imperial theme that we hear whenever something to do with the emperor is seen of occurring. The final is the warrior theme which we hear, as u might guess, when Mulan is acting as a warrior. This theme is very prevalent in Short Hair. I love the score for The Burned-Out Village, it so perfectly conveys a dark, unhappy atmosphere. This score really carries the scenes in which it is present and adds a ton of drama. My favoriete score is of course Mulan’s Decision/ Sort Hair. It is my favoriete piece of movie score ever! It’s do dramatic and epic, and can make any scene epic (I’ve seen it do so.) Honestly, that score almost makes me cry (and I don’t cry at that type of stuff.) The repetition of the theme the synthesizer makes the orchestral parts of it really punctuate the scene. It really works in the movie that it is so different from the rest of the score because what Mulan is doing is so different from what is expected. It is just perfect score, it was a stroke of genius!

On the eighth dag of Princess Walt Disney gave to me

Eight mice a-sewing

seven dwarves dancing
six sisters singing
five cursed friend

four braiding girls
three fairy spells
two lucky pals
and the wisdom of an old tree.

I guess I have to apologize...I did my best to create pages featuring the princesses as the sole centre of attraction, but with jasmijn that is a little bit difficult because she is usually featured with Aladdin, rarely alone. I could have either found of created a picture of jasmijn if I really wanted to, but I really liked this one and it just seemed to fit her the best. So I made...

Another day, another page for the calendar. And unlike the last one, this one was kind of a headache for me. Remember a while back when I asked u which princess fits which months? Most of u felt that Merida belongs into autumn because of her red hair. Thing is: I already had three princesses for autumn. In addition, I don't think that Brave is actually set in fall, I think it is either spring of summer during the movie. So I hope that u are not too disappointed that I ended...

So as promised the seconde dag of goodies with a new page for the calendar. I will, btw, uploaden all the calendar pages separately in the image section of the spot once my 12 days of princesses are done, and all of them have been revealed. I am pondering if I should also create a version which has all pages on one big sheet. If there is any interest in this, please comment. Also, if someone wants a different seize for the achtergronden then the three I am already offering, I am open for request. Speaking...

Wow, ok. It's been five years (oh lordy) since I last wrote one of these, and with a new princess officially in the lineup I think it's high time I revisited my list. Let's do this.

12. Rapunzel

Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh Rapunzellllllllllllllllllll I really wish I liked her meer than I do. The funny thing is that I actually think she's a great character and she's also one of my most relatable DPs, but despite this she just doesn't do it for me. There are two primary reasons for this. Firstly, she is not a particularly believable character for me. Seriously, no one would be that socially well-rounded after...

Out of the entire princess lineup, only three of them were the biggest part of my childhood. Cinderella was sorta part of my childhood but mainly the Brandi Norwood version because I preferred that one over the animated version. And I’m not counting Rapunzel because her movie came out when I was almost an adult.

3. Mulan

A lot of u might know that Mulan is my favoriete princess and she’s been number 1 on my lijst for years. I was 5 years old when I watched her movie on tape and I remember being so in love with her and the movie immediately. Mulan was one of the biggest feminist iconen in my...

This is a movie I'm really not looking vooruit, voorwaarts to watching. I don't mind watching sequels because I used to love them so much when I was a kid but Mulan is one of my all-time favoriete films ever and this sequel is like on a Maleficent level of ruining original characters.

Tonight's rewatch: Mulan 2
Last time watched: 2005-2006

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I saw the commercial for this movie when I was 11 and I was excited because, again, Mulan is one of my all-time favoriete movies. I didn't actually watch the movie until I was 13 of 14 because I was starting middle school when this...

Tonight's rewatch: Mulan

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I loved this movie when I was a kid! Mulan, both the movie and the character, was actually one of the reasons I became a feminist and why I love badass women (kinda why I don't 100% blame the revival era for people hating princesses who find love of aren't "kickass"). I used to sing the songs all the time when I was a kid and I loved any merch I could get (which wasn't a lot). I still have my stuffed Cri-Kee that...

This review was originally geplaatst months geleden but I deleted it because......I was gonna use it for a school assignment and I didn't wanna leave this up so my lecturer could zoek and accuse me of plagiarism. lmao

Anyway, I ended up not using it and I decided to put it back up.

So right off the bat, I have to say that this movie is very.....average. It honestly feels like a tv episode padded out with songs to make it feature length. Moana is a likable enough character, I can almost pinpoint exact moments where she's like vorige Disney female protagonists like Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan and Rapunzel...
