11. BRAVE

This years' newcomer in the DP lineup ended in the last place. I personally don't understand why this movie is hated so much. It's a cute story with likable characters and stunning animation. I guess because it's new and people don't have childhood memories with it, of any emotional attachment to it, that's why it ended so low in the countdown.

10. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS

Despite that I have it in the bottom half on my list, I don't think this movie should be this low. It's the first theatrical animated film, and it deserves meer recognition. People tend to like it, because it's simple and sweet, but some find it too old-fashioned, and boring.

9. POCAHONTAS

The biggest asset this movie has is the stunning animation. Add a few amazing songs, and you'll get a nice animated film, with very strong visual and auditory characteristics. Unfortunately, some believe that the plot is not very nicely structured, and the characters are bland.

8. CINDERELLA

Another classic, beautifully drawn movie ended up pretty low in the countdown. While the animatie is stunning, the plot doesn't seem to be exiting enough. The muziek also doesn't seem to the that memorable, but the characters are quite cute. Overall, this is a great fairytale, turned into a great movie.

7. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

I personally don't think this movie deserved to be above some of the old Disney classics. The animatie is quite pretty, but in terms of music, characters and plot it just doesn't hold up to the rest of the DP movies. At least for me it doesn't have the typical Disney magic. But I guess as the movie got older, meer people are starting to appreciate it, especially since it is probably going to be the last 2D Disney movie in the near future.

6. SLEEPING BEAUTY

I firmly believe that this movie has one of the best animations ever! Everything is just so detailed and drawn with such care! A true masterpiece! The muziek is also amazing! However, some fans find the film bland. The plot can sometimes verplaats too slowly, and as many people point out, the lack of screentime for the main hero and heroine is the weak point of the movie.

5. THE LITTLE MERMAID

One of the DP films with most-memorable songs and characters, The Little Mermaid is a true Disney classic, filled with Disney magic. People love it, because the heroes and the sidekicks are likeable, and to a lot of young adults this is maybe the first animated movie which they loved in their childhood. I believe Disney could have done a lot better with the underwater scenes, because the animatie globaal, algemene is not that impressive, but apart from that this is a decent movie.

4. ALADDIN

Aladdin is the movie, which initiated the use of modern references and jokes. While some people find it funny and full of entertaining characters, others think that the humor is inappropriate and the message of the movie is neither clear, not very relevant to the kids.

3. TANGLED

Despite that a lot of people predicted that the Tangled hype will quickly die out, this doesn't seem to be the case. People still enjoy its lovely animation, enjoyable characters, memorable muziek and refreshing humor. It definitely has its fair share of Disney magic, and lived up to the expectation of the fans.

2. MULAN

I was actually quite surprised and happy at the same time to see Mulan so high. This is a very moving and powerful movie, which has a big impact on the viewers. The stunning score and the subtle humor contribute a lot towards the amazing power of the movie, making it one of the best Disney Princess movies.

1. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

A tale as old as time, Beauty and the Beast manages to make people fall in love with it. A beautiful love story, full of wonders and romance, accompanied door amazing score and songs - these are only a few words, which can vaguely summarize the magic of one of the best animated films ever created.

Maria7Potter o.O I'm the only one out of those who voted whose favoutite DP movie is Pocahontas? Anyway, nice article. I was also pleasantly surprised that Mulan is so high; this movie deserves more love!

PrueFever Can't believe Tangled endned so high on the list! :o

PrincessAyeka12 Pocahontas should have been higher in my opinion. Either before or after Sleeping Beauty in terms of animation detail. But otherwise I'm happy with the list, especially the top 5. I'm not surprised Tangled is so high.

Swanpride I agree that PatF is too high, and I think Aladdin is still pretty much overrated, overall, it's not a bad list...I naturally appreciate Sleeping Beauty more, but I can live with a middle placing, considering that some people are not even ready how great the animation of the movie is. Glad that Tangled is still going strong. The movie really deserves it.

MalloMar Mulan is in a well deserved place! :) I like the placements of Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin, also. I think Pocahontas, The Princess and the Frog, and the 3 oldest movies should be higher, and Beauty and the Beast and Tangled lower. Very good article!

dclairmont I'm sooooooo surprised Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid were next to eachh other, usually Sleeping Beauty is at the very bottom, and The Little Mermaid at the very top. Surprised, but happy!

Jessikaroo Glad Tangled made it so high. I feel like this list is really reflective of the current general feelings of Fanpop towards all aspects of the DP films. BatB is #1 as usual, Brave is dead last, and SWatSD appreciation is at a low once again.

tiffany88 Thanks for your article <3 I think Sleeping Beauty is way to high, it's 6th favorite, and Pocahontas is just 9th? Strange, SB is not Disney's best movie in my opinion. And PATF is by far better than the 7th place, and Tangled is the 3rd? It isn't even a memorable movie at all...

Jayden-G I really like this list. I personally think that Tangled, BatB, and Sleeping Beauty should be a bit lower. Other than that, this list is pretty accurate to the general audience. I am glad that PatF is not as low as it could have been. I do think Snow White and Conderella snod has been a bit higher though. Well-written, and enjoyable article.

shanyuisboss I am a bit disappointed to see Pocahontas so low and sleeping beauty so high. But i am happy that BatB and Mulan made it in the top two, they so deserved it!

jainabieber7 Realllly surprised that Sleeping Beauty almost made it to the top 5! It's usually at the bottom. I'm so happy to see Tangled in 3rd!! Yay!

LightningRed Agree with tiffany88. Tangled is definitely OVERRATED. Higher than Aladdin and The Little Mermaid? And Maria7Potter, you're not alone. Pocahontas is my favorite DP movie too!

KataraLover The reason Brave got last wasn't because it's new, by that logic Tangled should be in the bottom three and so should The Princess and The Frog. The reason it's last is for one everyone was angry about all the false advertising about a dynamic story about a curse on the land and Merida having to go on an incredible journey while finding herself. However as we all know that wasn't what the movie was like AT ALL! Other reasons are because it's not that original, for one being a rehash of Brother Bear. Also they just made Merida a mixture of Ariel and Jasmine so she's not that original. It's fine if they wanna do that and throw in things we've seen before as long as they do something new, but they didn't, it's just a bunch of cliche's that we've seen before. The characters aren't very memorable, it's incredibly predictable, it's rushed and cluttered, and the story is all over the place. While I love Merida to pieces she's not really memorable or that impressive, especially compared to what the marketing was leading her up to be. I mean she's advertised as this strong character who gets stuff done, doesn't need saving, defeats the villain and saves the day, and a total bada**, that's not what she is at all. You'd think they'd make her more memorable considering she's the first female Pixar protagonist. Overall it's an okay movie. Overall good article with very pretty pictures, great job.

JNTA1234 Tangled gives me a headache but overall this list was delightfully surprising. I never thought Aladdin and the Little Mermaid would fall out of the top three. And PATF and Sleeping Beauty being in the middle surprised me even more, it's nice to see those films getting recogniton. Personally, Brave being at the bottom does not surprise me at all!
