Inspired door Kataralover's video; link I decided to type up a little thing. To be honest I'm rather surprised to type this one as I actually don't really care for Cinderella. However I don't really agree with a lot of the reasons for her character being hated. I guess u can say that I don't hate Cindy, I don't even dislike her...I just like the other princesses better. The reason I don't care for her centers around the fact that I find her movie boring and therefore can't find her character as fun--hopefully Helena Bonham Carter can spark life into her movie. Anyhow I'm kind of getting off topic so I'll get into the defense part.

One of the things that I see kind of often in way of people bashing Cinderella is that she simply sits around and takes the abuse that comes her way--basically she can't defend herself.
I do not think this is true...not entirely. At first she seemed to sit around just waiting and hoping for a miracle. But honestly, I actually do think that that's justified as the movie was about hope and keeping faith. It's about being in a bad situation but never losing sight of the possibility that things can get better. The movie aimed to teach children that things sometimes can get better without them having to do anything but cling to hope. This hope eventually leads to taking action. And Cinderella did. While yes it took a push from her fairy Godmother, she did start to help herself. It takes guts to defy and go behind the back of an abuser, and she did. Sure the fairy Godmother granted her a dress and a carriage but what good would those do if she had no motivation and courage to put them to use.

That said, once she gets to the ball people complain that she fell in love way too quick. I actually feel like that's fine. It's a fairy tale and fairy tales are supposed to have happy 'love-at-first-sight' themes. It's what makes them magical. Most all of them have it, I don't know why one princess is being mocked for it over another. If you're going to knock Cindy for this why not go for Ariel of Aurora? Both also fell in love at first sight. Either accept one meer of bash them all. Let's not forget Disney Princesses are to a degree aimed at younger children and are often one of the first films they watch. I am in a children's literature course; some concepts I learned were to keep the content at an appropriate level, don't scare the child, and don't leave the child in distress. If distrust to the prince was shown it could confuse of bore a child. A very young watcher wants to believe that princes and princesses are all good and the bad guys are...well, bad. To make Cinderella misturstful of her prince would cause that confusion. And if she didn't marry the prince, at that time it's not unreasonable to assume she wouldn't have had her happy ending--simply because of the time period in which her movie takes place. And that is never good for children's movies. Children do not like unhappy endings. This is where I think the issue lies; like many Disney Princesses, the target audience is for young children. And yet so, so many teens and adults still love and enjoy the princesses just as much as the target audience. This said, Disney can't have out-right dark themes--they usually use subtly and it's hard to make things like mistrust of men (in this case) subtle. So they use love-at-first-sight, most-people-are-good themes. And besides isn't love at first sight simply a wonderful classic?! :D I don't see anything wrong with believing in love at first sight.

People also seem to believe that she's weak and therefore anti-feminist. I actually don't think this is true. I mean if she was weak and anti-feminist then she probably wouldn't have even tried to escape her situation. But she did. Her opportunity was presented and she took it. A weak, passive, anti-feminist character probably wouldn't act on a presented opportunity. I think Cindy was simply waiting for the right moment--and that moment came in the form of a lovely fairy Godmother. As kataralover mentioned, she may not be fiery and spunky like Ariel of jasmijn but she still holds her own. Just because she isn't bluntly sassy and feisty doesn't mean she's helpless. Strength comes in many forms; Cinderella is the holder of mental and intelligent strength. Kataralover also mentioned in his video that Cinderella lives in a time period in which women don't have a lot of power of control. And it's rather true. So that means she has to be smart about her defiance and smart about how she helps herself and breaks away from the abuse. She was smart enough to wait for a good moment and strong enough to latch onto the opportunity when it came. So what about the times leading up to her grand breakaway? This is where mental strength comes in; it takes so, so much to hold out and keep your head up when u are in such a dark situation like the one Cindy was in. She was strong enough to take what they dished out and still be a loving, kind-hearted girl.

This zei Cindy is a great role model. No matter what evils the stepmother and stepsisters dished at her, she stuck to her morals and didn't let them change who she was just to please them. Is it not great to teach a child...or anyone to be themselves? To not let people get the best of you? To keep your hope? To work hard for what u want? Cinderella does all of this and I think children need to be exposed to this kind of thing.

No personality is another thing I've noticed across the web. With the exceptions of Bella zwaan-, zwaan and Bloom from Winx Club I think most all characters have some type of personality. Cinderella does have a personality; she's kind (in her treatment of the animals, those who treated her kindly in return, and even to her step-siblings despite it all), loving, sweet, determined (let's be honest, it takes motivation to get all of that insane house work done), hopeful (this is self explanatory), and something of a dag dreamer. Now whether u like this personality of not is up to you. I don't know, but these traits seem cool to me.

All of this said, I'm not saying any of these reasons for disliking her are wrong, I just disagree. Cinderella may not be strong in the conventional ways but she still is strong. And while her movie isn't the best (imo), she is still a wonderful character and a stellar role model.

Favorite Belle
O 4
R 3

Both versions of Belle are fine, but there is something about both of them that people love that makes them prefer one over the other. The people who picked original Belle grew up with Paige O'Hara's voice who put her hart-, hart and soul in her role as Belle, and then the people who picked remake Belle like that she's an inventor. One user zei they prefered original Belle because they didn't like Emma's acting and compared to Paige Emma was pretty wooden and even with any positive changes made to her Belle bad acting can ruin...

I know Frozen isn't part of the Disney Princess franchise but this movie was on the lijst of films to watch for months before I finally started doing these artikels so please just go with it. of don't read it. Whichever keeps things drama free.

Tonight's rewatch: Frozen
Last time watched: 2014

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
I was 20 going on 21 when this movie was released in theaters so I wasn't exactly a kid, meer like a kid at heart. I wasn't excited about this movie at the time and it didn't help when Disney released childrens boeken that spoiled the plot, including the Hans spoilers,...

I'm on a villain appreciation kick right now and since the blatant drainage of all the charisma from his character in the remake is still fresh in my memory I figured I'd give Gaston some props. Some people would call him a lame villain but I actually think he's really cool and these are some reasons why.

He's Hans from Frozen done right. Subversion of Disney trends is the name of the game in modern DP films, but like I've been saying, Disney Princess films have been subverting and reinventing themselves before Disney Princess even became a brand. In the Little Mermaid, the princess rescues...

 No ones audition like Gaston!
No ones audition like Gaston!
Hi guys, since I had put this artikel in the Beauty and the Beast page. So, here are my choices for those who have not read the artikel yet and for your convenience! This artikel is basically on what would really happen if Luke Evans hadn't gotten the part of muscular narcissist bully.

1. Tom Burke

Yes, Alan Rickman's godson who played Roland and Bentley Drummle in Dragon Heart: A New Beginning and the 2011 miniseries Great Expectations respectively. From these 2 roles, he could the arrogant Gaston!

2. Colin Farrell

This Irish bad boy really is the ideal Gaston, his voice is gruffy and I bet...

Hello ! I thought a lijst of the DPs and what I like/dislike about them would be a good way to introduce myself to this club, so here it is ! Making this list, I was surprised at how difficult it was. I have a few princesses I dislike, but I really love most of them and it was hard to class them all. Some of them seem too low when I look at their rank, but then when I actually try to put them higher I realize I love the ones above just as much !

N°11: ARIEL

One of the only two princesses I actually dislike. She's a spoiled child who only thinks of herself, which would be fine if it was supposed...

All Dp films are nice. We can’t say anything absolutely bad, each film has something that stunned us. I am being impartial. Yea, each DP film has at least one thing that I love.

•    Snow white and the seven dwarves

1.    The queen is my most attractive female villain. Sorry Snow white, but I think the queen was meer beautiful than her. Her luscious red lips and seductive eyes! She’s sexy!

2.    The huntsman is my most handsome DP villain human sidekick! Nothing to say!

•    Cinderella

1.    So...

Who is that girl I see Staring straight back at me?
I won't rate princesses, just put them into three categories. It'd be difficult to rate them because all princesses from the first categorie would equally be the last. There is no a princess who is absolutely like me but there are some that are nothing like me.

Princesses I don't relate to at all(random order)

Tiana
 It's not my dream job.
It's not my dream job.

Tiana is a definition of hard-working and energetic, while I am lazy, slothful, self-indulgent and dreamy person. I don't like cooking and I'm not good at it. Tiana and Naveen's romance is also unrelatable because Naveen is a) Tiana's polar oppossite, b)...

Notes: Frozen is not owned and created door me. This is a re-write of a Frozen Fanfiction I wrote on a vorige Fanpop account, Windrises.

Queen Elsa was wearing a blue gewaad, kleed and was looking for Princess Anna. Elsa saw Kai the butler and zei "Have u seen Anna?"

Kai the butler zei "She zei she was going to go swimming in her pool."

Elsa zei "But she doesn't have a pool. I'm going to find her."

Kai accidentally knocked a statue to the ground. Kai hid the broken pieces of the statue under the hallway rug.

Elsa walked to a room where she heard splashing sounds. Elsa opened the door and saw Anna in...

Anna zei "Elsa what's going on today?"

Elsa zei "I have important business so I'll be gone today."

Anna zei "This means I have nothing to do."

Elsa zei "I'm sure you'll find something to do. Please don't eat too much chocolate."

After Elsa left Anna was bored. She felt like she had no reasons to do anything. She zei "Well I'm sure that somewhere in my city there's crimes and Super Chocolate Lover will stop them." Anna put on her super hero costume and tried...

 Cinderella.
Cinderella.
Hi guys, I had recently watch a video about the enchantress. I actually notice that these 2 characters have a number of similarities with each other.

Cinderella

In the 2015 live-action reboot, Cinderella's kindness actually prove to the fairy godmother door rewarding. Ella is considered an outcast with her stepmother and stepsister, and she also share some similarities with Belle considering that the latter originally was going to have 2 sisters who are bullies too in the movie! Secondly, the magic spell will only work till midnight, thus setting a time for Cinderella.

The Beast

Since he...
