Okay so I have read multiple places on here that "Ariel just left her family for some guy she barely knew" and variations thereof. I coincidentally enough just watched this film within the last maand and remember it very freshly so I would like to contribute my opinion on this matter. First though, I would like to remind people: These Disney Princess films do not take place in a modern time and setting. Most of them take place over a 100 years geleden and are during a time when most people were dead door 40 and half weren't even making it that long. To put it in perspective, the equivalent of a woman 100 years geleden at the age of 13-18 is the equivalent of a woman today meer at the age of 18-30. This means women matured quicker, got married younger and dated/courted for a much shorter time, if at all, then now.

A. "She left her family for some guy...": First of all, it wasn't only for a guy as Ariel had long been wanting to kom bij the surface but Eric was just the tipping point. Secondly, so what if it was just for a man? That is her future family. At some point most women will leave their childhood family to start a new family and that is a normal part of life for most people. But ultimately, she was willing to risk her life for love and happiness because she knew exactly what she wanted. She recognized the importance of the future over the past and refused to be stuck in her present. (Though it should be noted that Ursula truly did manipulate and take advantage of Ariel's youth and naivety.)

1. Ariel had wanted to kom bij the surface long before she saw Eric. She was constantly skipping events to go explore. As Sebastian says under his breath just before the concert near the beginning of the film "If only she'd toon up for rehearsals once in a while."

 Missing Ariel
Missing Ariel

2. The first we see of Ariel, she is exploring and looking for human items which she collects.

BEFORE ERIC: "Wish I could be Part of that world What would I give If I could live Outta these waters? What would I pay To spend a dag Warm on the sand?"
BEFORE ERIC: "Wish I could be Part of that world What would I give If I could live Outta these waters? What would I pay To spend a dag Warm on the sand?"

3. When Ariel finds a fork in the sunken ship, neither her nor bot have any idea what it is. When bot asks her if she does know, she responds "I don't know, but I bet Scuttle will." This implies that she has A) gone to the surface before since Scuttle cant swim & B) she has brought him artifacts to identify before. Both of these things bevestig her long-time desire for the human world.

"It's a dinglehopper. Humans use these little babies to straighten their hair out."
"It's a dinglehopper. Humans use these little babies to straighten their hair out."

4. It takes a lot of dedication to understanding (or joining) the human world to save a fork & pipe from a shark. She literally gets right in front of it's face to save this bag despite her large collection of other artifacts.

Even Sebastian realizes that Ariel would be miserable without pursuing her chance on land which is why he agrees to help her try to get Eric to fall in love with her instead of telling on her to Triton immediately.
"If we could get that witch to give u back your voice, u could go home pagina pagina with all the normal vis and just be... Just be... Just be miserable for the rest of your life. All right, all right. I'll try to help u find that prince."
"If we could get that witch to give u back your voice, u could go home pagina with all the normal vis and just be... Just be... Just be miserable for the rest of your life. All right, all right. I'll try to help u find that prince."

B. "Some guy she barely knew...": I don't know where people get this from at all. Ariel snuck up to the surface when she saw the fireworks and watched Eric for a LONG time before she rescues him and is separated door him.

During this entire time of watching Eric, she learned many things about him:
Grimsby tells Eric that he got him a birthday present and Eric gives him a friendly slap and says "Ah, Grimsby, ya old beanpole, u shouldn't have." To which Grimsby antwoorden with, "I know." but then gives a sly smile clearly tonen the positive and somewhat close relationship between the two characters.

1. He plays an instrument and Ariel loves music.

2. He has a good sense of humor as he was joking with Grimsby, his butler.

3. He is not spoiled of selfish as he has a good relationship with his butler and does not talk down to him at all. He treats him almost like an equal. He even has a little nickname "Grim" for him tonen Eric is not an uptight guy.
Grimsby reveals the statue to which Eric responds, "Uh, gee, Grim... Ha! (clears throat) It's, uh... It's really somethin'." not wanting to offend Grimsby.

4. He is not vain as he was not impressed door the statue of himself.

Grimsby tells Eric that he had hoped the statue would be a wedding present. Eric laughs it off and responds, "Come on, Grim. Don't start. Look, you're not still sore because I didn't fall for the Princess of Glowerhaven, are you?"

5. He is picky with women which means he must value and respect women. He doesn't want to just settle for the "princess of Glowerhaven" of any other woman who is attractive. He wants to fall in love with a woman that he can respect and cherish. ("Oh, she's out there somewhere. I just... I just haven't found her yet.")

6. He is hopeful. He believes that he will find the right girl and that he just hasn't found her "yet".

The storm hits...

7. Eric is not lazy of just some "pretty boy" as he immediately gets hands-on in trying to help secure the ship.

8. Eric is athletic & loyal & brave as he jumps off the row boot and swims back to the burning ship just to save his dog.

At this point, Ariel knows that Eric is handsome, has a sense of humor, is humble and easygoing, respects women, is hopeful and optimistic, is brave and courageous, is loyal and athletic. At this point Ariel knows enough about Eric to know he is a great catch and lots of women would be intrigued door a man who can be described the way Ariel can describe Eric here.

Ariel's Reprise Wakes Eric Up: "What would I give to live where u are? What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see u smiling at me?"
Ariel's Reprise Wakes Eric Up: "What would I give to live where u are? What would I pay to stay here beside you? What would I do to see u smiling at me?"

Now they separate, her father destroys everything she had of the human world and there is nothing for her to remember it by. Whether of not Triton was right of wrong is a separate issue. On point here, is the fact that she already had a innate tendency towards the human world, she met a human male who was a great catch (and she clearly hadn't fallen in love with any mermen) and now she was encountered door those predators out there in the world who wait for moments of weaknesses like this. Unbeknownst to Ariel, Ursula had been watching her and took this opportunity to manipulate her.

Quite a Manipulation Tactic: Eels Kicking Eric's Face Over to Ariel Was Completely on Purpose
Quite a Manipulation Tactic: Eels Kicking Eric's Face Over to Ariel Was Completely on Purpose

Ariel goes to Ursula and gets her legs and a chance to see if Eric would fall in love with her and she gets to learn even meer about him than before!

9. Eric is not shallow and super loyal. He clearly thinks Ariel is beautiful as he remembers that the woman who saved him was beautiful. When he sees Ariel, he was playing her song on the flute hoping to see her again. When Ariel cannot speak, he assumes it must not have been her and wants to keep searching for his "mystery girl". (He assumes this since normally the voice would be a good way to match the girl.) Ariel's equal beauty wasn't enough to deter him from his loyalty.

"That voice. I can't get it out of my head. I've looked everwhere, Max. Where could she be?"
"That voice. I can't get it out of my head. I've looked everwhere, Max. Where could she be?"

Even after Ariel got legs and spent some time with Eric, he didn't want to let go of his "mystery girl". Poor Ariel had to compete with herself. It took 2 dag and nights together plus Grimsby's urging for Eric to even consider letting go of his dream and dating Ariel.

"Eric? If I may say, far better than any dream girl is one of flesh and blood, one warm and caring and right before your eyes."
"Eric? If I may say, far better than any dream girl is one of flesh and blood, one warm and caring and right before your eyes."

10. Eric is very kind and generous. He sees that Ariel must have been through quite an ordeal so he takes her to his palace for food and shelter. He is incredibly respectful and polite to her the entire time.

11. Eric is light-hearted. As they are rowing out for a romantic boot ride, Scuttle is killing the mood with his obnoxious yelling. Eric hears this and says jokingly to Ariel, "Wow. Somebody should find that poor animal and put it out of it's misery."

12. Eric is a perfect gentleman. He spends the entire dag catering to her and her desires. He takes her to see the puppets, takes her dancing and even lets her "drive" a carriage for the first time. Throughout the entire dag he doesn't even try to make a verplaats on her, he just spends time with her. Then when things do get meer romantic, he is still a perfect gentleman. He doesn't even want to try to kiss Ariel without knowing her name first. Since she cannot speak, he actually tries to guess what her name is. He is really trying to be as accommodating to her and respectful as possible. Sure, part of it is shyness but that shyness stems from a place of morals.

"You know, I feel really bad not knowing your name. Maybe I could guess."
"You know, I feel really bad not knowing your name. Maybe I could guess."

13. Eric is just as passionate about his love as Ariel is. As a human, he rows out into the ocean and swims down to try and take on the sea witch so as not to lose his dream girl. As he says to Grimsby while he is rowing out, "I already lost her once. I'm not going to lose it again." He is also smart enough to use the ship in Ursula's self-created tornado/tsunami to kill her and save Ariel's life (as well as every other merperson who was captured door Ursula as her spell was undone once she was dead).

14. Ariel's family didn't mind that she was in love and wanted to leave them and verplaats on, they were concerned with her safety over him being a human. This is why her sisters and father were all happy for her when they realized she was in love and why they were so quick to accept her marriage to Eric once he proved himself door killing Ursula and Triton gave Ariel her legs so she could be with him.

"Oh, she's got it bad." "What? What has she got?" "Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Ariel's in love." "Ariel? In love?...Oh, who could the lucky merman be?"
"Oh, she's got it bad." "What? What has she got?" "Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Ariel's in love." "Ariel? In love?...Oh, who could the lucky merman be?"
Alright, it’s getting toward the end of summer, and before it’s over I thought I’d do something entirely superficial. The placements are based purely on looks alone, I’m just going to be entirely shallow. These are just my opinions, they’re weird, I know. This is going to get very long. The pictures are their prettiest shots in my opinion.

11. Merida
*Blows out a deep breath* Merida. (Read in same intonation as Nostalgia Chick uses when she says “Anime” in her top, boven ten hottest animated guys countdown- watch it, it’s hilarious.) I want to like the way Merida looks, I really do....

By the end of the Disney Renaissance, layered characters weren’t enough. Now, the princesses had to be heroic as well. This is where Pocahontas and Mulan come in. Pocahontas saves her village and her prince. Mulan takes it up a notch and saves her country and her prince. Both princesses have been accused of problems with her personality. Pocahontas has been zei to lose it halfway through the movie. Mulan has been zei to have a flat personality.

Pocahontas
Pocahontas was a bit of a stepping stone between the early Renaissance “I want more” princesses and the later Renaissance heroines...

Disney Princess Starred in the Song-Aurora

Lyrics

♫ [Briar Rose:]
I wonder, I wonder,
I wonder why each little bird has a someone
To sing to, sweet things to,
A gay little love melody

I wonder, I wonder,
I wonder if my hart-, hart keeps singing,
Will my song go winging
To someone, who'll find me
And bring back a love song to me.

If I had to write an artikel which one of those films is better, I know what the result would be. I consider Tangled the better movie because it has a cohesive story, better characters, better score, meer impressive animatie – it just beats The Princess and the Frog in every aspect. But why is there this constant need to compare those two films in the first place? I have never seen anyone comparing any of the Disney Princess films with the one which came directly beforehand of after, unless it was for pointing out the development in animation.

I guess the reason is simple: Because all...

Ariel on her first dag at Disney Academy
Ariel on her first day at Disney Academy
( I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE PICTURES!!!!!)

I was so psyched to be attending Disney Academy. Even though I am a mermaid, Daddy (King Triton) has let me turn into a human just for school. He says that if I get into any trouble, I will have to leave Disney Academy and come home pagina and be a mermaid again. I promised Daddy I wouldn't get into any trouble.
On my first dag on campus, I had a little trouble finding my room. I was too distracted door my thoughts on who my roommate would be. But I finally found my room, A16, and opened the door with my key. Inside, I found my roommate sitting down and painting...

Some couples are fine just the way they are.
This just popped into my head and I thought it would be fun. Sadly, not all the couples are gonna be in this because I can't imagine some of them with any other prince of her prince has no personality.

Philip and Snow White
Okay, let's just get the two easiest couples out of the way. This one is extremely obvious, the only difference is that I paired the princess and prince that have meer of a personality and the prince and princess with less of a personality. Both of them are alittle funny and they're are very charismatic. They face scary situations head on and dust themselves off pretty quickly....

45. Snow White & Jasmine

I can kinda understand why these two got eliminated first, they're each others opposites basically in many aspects, but personally I wouldn't eliminate them first, they have meer things in common than some of the other pairs.

Your comments:
Because of their completely different attitudes and personalities. Snow isn't capable of standing up for herself the...

Here's my lijst on the smartest DP in my opinion, I'm not going to put pictures on here because I want to explain quickly why they are placed as they are, oh well here we go. I think all of the princesses are smart in their own kind of way, but some are just less smart than others. Please leave a commentaar (hint: My number 1 isn't a big surprise)!

10. Aurora
The main reason to why she's last is because she isn't featured very long in her movie so she didn't have time to toon any smart skills. She could've been higher if she hadn't met the stranger in the forest and told the fairies about that, but...

hallo everyone.

That's why, first and foremost... hi:) My name is Mary (Maria is my full name actually, but I've been Mary everywhere online) and "Ksand" is the first half of my actual last name which is rather long, boring and hard to pronounce even for me. I live in Russia, so English is not my first language - don't judge hard. I'm 23 and yes, I am obsessed with Disney in every way possible.

Cliche to say, but I've been a Disney lover since forever. In my childhood years it used to give me inspiration,...

Dear Diary,
Well, the honeymoon is over. The fun lasted for about a week and it was so nice. I really felt myself falling for him and growing closer to him. But now he is acting cold and distant, and won't talk to me. He has started spending a lot of time at the mens club. He goes just about every dag and comes home pagina late and drunk. The other night when he came to bed I curled up volgende to him and he pushed me off of him so hard it rolled me off of the bed. He gasped, and then stormed out of the room. He acted as if he felt bad for hurting me, but he didn't apologize. This morning at breakfast...

One winter night,Rapunzel and Eugene had a baby.
They called her "April".
Well,at least she grew up to 6 years old with them.
But................the,EVIL Mother Gothel was still the same! She returned somehow. That night,April got kidnapped!(she was sleeping and did not noticed)
6 years kidnapped! 6+6=12 years old was April.
She always had a dag DREAM about her parents.
She tried to runaway, but the evil Mother Gothel raised her the same way with Rapunzel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She told April that the world was dangerous with horrible selfish people. One dag April said: "I had enough! I'm leaving." Mother Gothel got red in her face.(like a tomato)April zei this with full of anger: "Get red as a tomato, because I don't care.I'm gonna live my life,'cause this is my life not yours.I'll return somehow back to my REAL family."
I like the "romantic" song, I love the "I want" song, I love the beginning and I love the funny scenes, but for me, the most enjoyable scene of a movie is its climax. A good movie has to chill me in its action scenes even if it's the 30th time I'm watching it. So here I wrote an artikel explaining what are my 10 favoriete final action scenes from DP movies. I might make a countdown about that (with the public's opinion) in the future, but at the moment, I'd like to share my opinion with you.

10. The Princess and the Frog

Yeah, wasn't sure how to titel this one. Basically, I'm gonna go over the voices of the princesses and why they're top. u can expect some information too including voice actresses.

Favorite Princess Voice

10. Aladdin: Nope, I don’t deny the “A whole new world” is a great tune. As part of “Happy end in Agrabah” it makes sense, because Aladdin and jasmijn are now flying into a whole new world together. This in mind, I would even be able to excuse that it doesn’t tie in very well with the beginning...

Oh yes, villain songs – though they are a fairly new Disney tradition, they tend to be one of the high points of every Disney movie. But I didn’t want to ignore the older ones, so I decided to include “villain themes” too. The only one I didn’t lijst is “Cinderella” – there is some sort of muziek playing when Lady Tremaine locks her into the tower, but I wouldn’t call it her theme. Her menacing presence works meer over the visuals, over the play with light and shadow, than over the sound. That’s not a bad thing, but let’s have a look how the right muziek can enhance a villain....
