Unlike SB vs M, this one had some mixed results for some of the questions.

O = Original
R = Remake
O and R = Original and Remake

Favorite Cinderella
O 7
R 2

Ella and Cinderella were both equally good characters, they were both kind, both tried to make the best out of a bad situation, and both had courage. There are mixed feelings for Ella though; she was constantly smiling even when being insulted, she was gegeven a poor reason to stay in her home, her character used the "always be kind" in a way that made her a doormat for her stepfamily even when her father was alive, and while the original Cinderella actually gave the impression that Cinderella was a prisoner in her own home, the remake Ella not only leaves the home pagina several times, she actually has human vrienden who could help her. But people do love her because she had meer screentime compared to the original, she saved the deer from the hunting party, and fans say she's one of/the only best remake princesses so far. But as good as Ella was, Cinderella still won this round because of nostalgia and even with her not having a lot of screentime in her movie she still made a huge impact on fans of all ages with her sarcastic wit, her kindness, her beauitful singing, and her dreaming.

Favorite Lady Tremaine
O 5
R 3
O and R 1

Like Cinderella vs Ella, both versions of Lady Tremaine were equally good. They were both manipulative, cruel, graceful, and any scene they were in they owned that scene. Cate Blanchett did an incredible job as Lady Tremaine. She may not have had the same glare the original Lady Tremaine had, but she had her own villainous look that she made her own that didn't look forced. The biggest difference between the two is while in the original it's only told in the beginning through narration why Lady Tremaine hated Cinderella so much, in the remake Lady Tremaine explains the reason herself and the remake actually humanizes her door having her talk how she lost the love of her life and then so soon after remarrying she lost her seconde husband. In the end, the original Lady Tremaine wins most likely because of nostalgia reasons and because some fans consider her to be meer villainous than the live action version.

Favorite Stepsisters
O 8
R 1

The stepsisters in the original weren't as manipulative of as graceful as Lady Tremaine was but they weren't overshadowed door her, they were still memorable and left an impact on viewers, especially when they tore apart Cinderella's dress in the original. In the remake while they did have about as much screentime as their mother, they don't leave as much of an impact, only being there to be comic relief. In the original the stepsisters could be seen as Lady Tremaine's evil sidekicks but they were still their own characters, they did things on their own. In the remake they're pretty much just following Lady Tremaine's lead. They didn't even start tearing apart Cinderella's dress until Lady Tremaine started doing it.

Favorite Fairy Godmother
O 7
R 2

Nostalgia wins again for this one. The remake version the Fairy Godmother wasn't bad, some fans just weren't a fan of her. She was funny and kind and she had a look that almost looked Tim Burtonesqe (like the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland). The original Fairy Godmother was like a sweet grandmother some people grew up with with a sweet old lady voice to match. Like Mrs. Potts and Grandmother Willow, the Fairy Godmother is a sweet old woman we all loved growing up so replacing her with a younger woman who is a little ditzy is a change some people don't like

Favorite Animal Sidekicks (ex. Lucifer and mice)
O 7
R 2

There are mixed aantal keer bekeken for both versions of the animal sidekicks. The original animal sidekicks are meer memorable and funny but some fans don't like the constant cat and mice scenes while the live action animal sidekicks look meer real and don't steal Ella's spotlight but they don't offer much. Honestly, if the animal sidekicks were left out of the remakes they wouldn't have been missed since we didn't see them much.

Favorite Prince
O 2
R 7

Remake finally wins a round! The Prince's character change was probably the best in the live action movie. If it weren't for the sequels, we wouldn't know anything about the original prince at all. Kit had meer screentime, meer personality, meer lines, and he was actually part of the zoek for the mystery princess and was the one to put the glass slipper on Ella's foot. The users who voted for original didn't give so I can only assume they picked it for nostalgia reasons.

Favorite King
O 8
R
O and R 1

The original King had meer screentime than his son and he spent that time being comedy relief, in a good way. I've seen some fans dislike his tantrums and the King himself (tbh I'm not a huge fan of them either) but there are other fans who thought his tantrums were hilarious. The King in the remake didn't have the same temper as the original but he wasn't on screen as much. But when he was on screen it was spent with his son and tonen their relationship. Despite this the King in the remake isn't as memorable as the King in the original.

Favorite Grand Duke
O 9
R

As interesting as it is that the live action Duke was changed to be a villain of the movie, trying to set up Kit with a princess and making that deal with Lady Tremaine, fans were disappointed to see such a funny animated character from the original changed to be the complete opposite.

Favorite Prince and Princess Meeting
O 4
R 4
O and R 1

Look at this tie! There wasn't a lot of reasonings as to why some people picked what, one user zei the remake meeting wasn't rushed, one zei the meeting in the remake looked too similar to the one in Sleeping Beauty, and one zei they preferred the original and wished the couple got to know each other during the walk through the garden in the original (though they might have since all we could hear was So This is Love). Maybe the other people who picked might feel the same way as the other users who did say why they picked remake/original, maybe some people picked original because of nostalgia, maybe some people picked remake because we actually get to hear Ella and the prince have a conversation, whatever the reasons why, neither meeting is better than the other. The way the prince and Cinderella met at the ball may seem rushed, it was still cute and the way the prince and Cinderella might have been similar to the meeting in Sleeping Beauty but it was nice to see them talk.

Favorite Dress Tearing scene
O 9
R

Okay it's pretty obvious why the original wins this one. The dress tearing scene in the original is an emotional and traumatic scene, probably one of the most emotional traumatic scenes in the Disney franchise. In the original Cinderella comes down excited, twirling around in her mother's dress that her little vrienden finished for her and all Lady Tremaine needed to do was mention the halsketting, ketting Cinderella was wearing that Drizella threw away and that set things into motion. Both stepsisters start shredding that dress while Cinderella pleads them to stop until Lady Tremaine calmly tells them that that was enough and they leave Cinderella standing there hopelessly, even lifting one of the shredded fabrics of the rok of her mother's dress and then the seconde the door shuts Cinderella bursts into tears and runs out to the garden. Here's why it didn't work in the remake; Ella already broke down once earlier in the movie after her stepmother doesn't let her eat breakfast at the tafel, tabel so her breakdown after her mother's dress gets ripped up isn't as emotional. Another reason it didn't work is because while in the original the dress was torn up and left unrecognizable in the end, the remake dress just had a few rips here and there and could have easily been fixed later. Ella still couldn't have gone to the ball with her dress ripped but her dress wasn't torn to shreds like Cinderella's was.

Favorite Ballgown
O 5
R 3
Original and Remake 1

The ballgown in the cartoon has been a Disney symbol for decades, it's so much meer memorable than some of the formal gowns we've seen in the Disney Princess franchise. Tons of little girls wear this dress and some women wear wedding dresses designed similar to the ballgown, and a celebrity even wore it at the 2019 Met, with another celebrity dressed similar to the Fairy Godmother who waved their wand and the dress brightened up and sparkled. It's a pretty dress but there's some parts of it fans don't like, mostly the sleeves. So it might have been good that the remake ballgown was designed differently, being a dark blue with meer detail and with butterflies on it as if a tribute to the little vlinder Ella's father gave her when she was a child. The ballgown in the remake is beautiful but it's not as iconic as the original

Favorite Ball Dance
O 4
R 4
O and R 1

Look! Another tie! Once again, the people who chose original of remake didn't say why they preferred original over remake so, once again, I'm going with the nostalgia reason. I was only gegeven one reason why someone preferred the remake because the choreography was very realistic and lively. Both dances were very beautiful though.

Favorite Chase
O 5
R 4

The chase in the original was intense while the chase in the remake was meer funny with little intensity. Again, only one user zei they preferred the original because of the music. The users who picked the original chase scene might prefer how intense it was watching the palace guards chase Cinderella's carriage as the clock chimed and the magic used on Cinderella, the pumpkin, and her animal vrienden slowly wore off. And the users who chose remake probably liked the silliness of the scene as the animals slowly went back to normal and Ella exploded out of the pompoen after it was no longer a carriage.

Favorite Slipper Breaking scene
O 5
R 3
O and R 1

It's funny that in the remake even though the slippers' roles are reversed, Lady Tremaine is still the reason both versions of a slipper ended up broken. In the original when it looks like Cinderella has a chance to have a happy ever after, Lady Tremaine trips the servant bringing the slipper, causing him to fall and drop the slipper so it shatters on the floor. And when the Duke is beginning to cry on the floor and Lady Tremaine has a smug look on her face, Cinderella announces she has the other slipper and pulls it out of her pocket and we get the pleasure of seeing the look of shock on Lady Tremaine. In the remake, Lady Tremaine finds the slipper in Ella's room and tries to force Ella into a deal that would have only benefited her (marrying off her daughters and being the one in charge of the kingdom instead of Kit). When Ella says no, Lady Tremaine breaks the slipper and takes it to the kasteel to make a deal with the Duke. Both versions are well done but the remake can't beat Cinderella pulling out the other slipper and seeing the look on Lady Tremaine's face.

Favorite A Dream is a Wish Your hart-, hart Makes
O 8
R 1

Lily James has a beautiful singing voice but it's a bit generic. Illene Woods had a unique sounding voice and her singing had a way of making some people listening to be under the same "spell" the mice and birds were under as they listened to Cinderella sing at the beginning of the movie.

Favorite Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo
O 6
R 3

Helena Bonham Carter also has a beautiful singing voice but for most people it couldn't top, boven Verna Felton.

Remake - 45

Original Cinderella is the winner!

Beauty and the Beast artikel will be up tomorrow!
I did say I was going to write Christmas related artikels here, but I've been wanting to write this one for a while, but I've been putting it off because I thought that pretty much everyone had the same list, but after thinking about it some parts of the lijst can variate from person to person though I believe that most of u will agree with my top, boven 5. Anyway this was door far the hardest lijst I've ever written, the top, boven 5 where settled in stone, but the rest where really hard to place. I based this on many aspects, but mostly on if the princess has both her parents alive, one parent alive of is...

My lijst hasn't changed all that much but I thought after rewatching Aladdin I would write an updated list.

13. Merida- Not a fan, I'm all for female empowerment but I don't like her attitude. She is just so rude & I do not find her likeable.

12. Elsa- She just really bugs me. I can't think of any other reasons but she just aggravates me.

11. Anna- Not keen on her either. She is not as bad as the other two but I'm not a fan, moving on.

10. Tiana- She is too much of a workaholic. I get that she has dreams to run her own restaurant but she can have fun once in awhile.

9. Jasmine- jasmijn has really...

Inspired door link, who did an amazing job(! <3), I really wanted to do my own version with favoriete Openings. I actually really love the original fairy tale concept of the Disney Princesses and I love the openings that give a meer magical and fairy tale kind of feel. (By the way, I am primarily trying to stick to the first 2-4 minutes.) So here is my ranking of the DP film openings, I hope u guys enjoy this light read! :D

12. Frozen: Frozen Heart/Ice Opening
I personally found this to be uninteresting and irrelevant to the film's magic, fairy tale and princesses (mostly) in the film. No explanation...

Trivia

1) Art director Brian McEntee color-keyed Belle so that she is the only person in her town who wears blue. This is symbolic of how different she is from everyone else around. Later, she encounters the Beast, another misfit, also wearing blue and with blue eyes. It symbolized good in the film whereas red symbolized evil (the color of Gaston's overhemd, shirt is red). A notable exception to this code is Gaston's blue eyes - making him the only Disney villain...

I love art! I love culture, history, muziek and I love art. I have done some posts and enquêtes about the Disney Princesses in reference to music, culture and fashion but not art yet so I thought I would do that next. I like to think of the Disney Princesses as "cultured" young women who have manners, etiquette, decent universal knowledge and appreciation for the arts. So, in my theory of the Disney Princesses being cultured, albeit each at their own levels, here are the paintings that I think each Disney Princess would love the most. (I could probably find a busje, van Gogh for each of them as I absolutely...

Happy Halloween! After much thinking about this, I think I finally came up with another artikel that i'm sure would be interesting to talk about.

Everything lives in a balance. there can't be good without bad, light without darkness, etc etc...The dichtonomy of ying-yang and how they complement each other is a subject that I find fascinating to read about, and mostly to apply it to other things. Something interesting i noted is how often in Disney the villains are pretty much the exact opposite of the heroes, but they often sometimes come from a same base. And in that base, they have much in...

I find majority of the DP films to be a bit scary, but that doesn't mean that it's impossible to make a lijst of the scariest movies, but it wasn't an easy lijst to do, but as usual I hope you'll enjoy this article

12. Cinderella

Okay so the bottom 3 are the only ones I'm really sure about and especially number 12, I mean do I even need to explain why it's last? But luckily it's there for a good reason, but despite being last it does have a few scary moments, but nowhere near as much as the films above

Because I am still in a musical mood but also ready for the "autumn/Halloween" mood, I'd like to incorporate the two! There aren't many DP villain songs globaal, algemene but I came up with at least 9 that were good enough to use for the sake of this countdown. I rated each of the songs against how villainous the lyrics were, how villainous the muziek sounds, how villainous the scene that accompanies the song in the film is and how villainous is the goal of the villain (or just the villain itself) singing the song? I ranked each song in the 4 categories and then ranked them globaal, algemene door accumulative "evil"...

It is the maand of October which, in reference to DPs, definitely makes me think of the villains! Since I enjoy themes, October will have a "Halloween, Autumn, of Villain" theme in most of my posts. This one is going with Halloween & Villains! I still cannot add any foto's to these artikels but I will be doing so as soon as possible. I only included the villains that I actually remember doing an "evil laugh" in their original film:

9. Governor Ratcliffe- Pocahontas: Not really an evil laugh, meer of a "bad person" laugh. Not too scary.

I hated putting her so down, especially she being my 3rd favourite princess. I hate the length of her hair, its like neither here nor there. I'd say, being a house maid, the pony with simple tie-band suited her purpose. I actually liked her cute little braids in the morning. But when...

hallo everyone! So a really talented writer on this site had posed a vraag about which princesses fit best as vrienden into friend groups. So here goes:

1. Maleficent:
with her one nasty evil stroke, she set the stage, She didn't dabble in small time efforts. Her character is the most alluring and unique. She was a fairy, but an evil one. She has the aura of an enchantress. I loved her confidence when she took the stage while casting out the spell.
The best villainy traits: downright evil, need no disguise, doesn't flaunt but does every act confidently and with most style.
