This one is so sad, first she thinks Eric will marry her after Scuttle told her about it, but then she sees him with another girl

Imagine your father coming into your room and smashing your computer, or tearing apart all your stuffed animals. When she cries after Eric leaves her I know it will be all right in the end because it's a fairytale, so it doesn't move me as much, but she'll never be able to get her amazing collection back. That was everything she cared about in the world gone in just a few seconds.

She has an impossible dream, that she thinks is never going to come true. And she thinks she's going to have to settle with being a mermaid for the rest of her life. The only thing that makes her happy is her collection of human objects, and she just had to watch her own Father destroy them. Now she has nothing but her impossible dream.

She new that Eric liked her, and he was actually going up to tell her that he loved her, so imagine being in love and you know he likes you back, the he goes for the other girl and you pretty much just died. ( since she has to go to Ursula's lair thingy)

She put up so much of a fight to be with Eric. This made me sad even as a kid.

This is the most sickening feeling a girl can go through. Confusion, betrayal, and loss at once

All her stuff that she had hardly collect gone only in a minute!

Something bad could actually happen to her here. She would be taken back and turned into seaweed.

obviously the Eric one is worse but I felt sorry for her when her dad destroyed it all. I felt bad for him too because he clearly knew he overreacted and regretted it instantly.

Because unlike the case with Eric she will never get her collection back or the years of effort, time, energy and inspiration spent on exploring the sinking ships, risking her life to obtain certain items and the overwhelming joy from bringing them into her grotto, all of it being taken away from her in an instant. Ariel crying on the docks was undoubtedly more of a heartbreaking experience for her to endure seeing as obviously she valued Eric more than any inanimate items, however, we as the audience knew he was under the spell of Ursula and prior to being hypnotized was ready and willing to choose Ariel over any abstract dream girl hence why the extreme morbidness of this moment doesn't measure up to the first instance.

She felt heartbroken and betrayed in this one. Both are sad though.

Now she losing everything she have in collection and get betrayed by ursula and finnaly she get love with
Eric and happy marry ending

It's way sadder to realize that your crush to not ended up with you rather than just losing some of stuffs.
