I really think Belle's devotion to her father, and willingness to give up her freedom forever to save his life truly admirable.

Both are selfless !! But my vote goes for Anna, because Belle sacrifices her freedom but Anna sacrifices her life...

They are almost equal because Belle's decision meant giving up all her hopes and dreams for her father. Anna's was less of a big decision. However, I think Anna would have done the same thing.

They're both selfless. I wouldn't call them the most selfless Disney Princesses but they are very selfless.

Gives her life and freedom and agrees to live with an aggressive horrible beast to save her old father. When the Beast gets wounded by the wolfs she takes him back to his castle and helps him cure his wounds instead of just running away. So yes.

What DIAMELA said. Also, I read a blog post on Tumblr about Belle not being a Mary Sue (by a fan), and it addressed all of her flaws, pointing out that she is, at times, selfish, such as when she invaded the beast's privacy in order to satisfy her own curiosity and for a mini adventure.

Sacrificing life versus freedom. Not a question.

Although I'm not really a fan of Anna, there's no doubt she's very selfless.

And I also think Belle can be selfish, but it's not portrayed as a flaw by the movie, thus, she comes off as very Sueish. Mary Sues are Mary Sues not because they have no flaws (though this is sometimes the case), but because their flaws are not presented as such.

Giving up her freedom for her father was more heroic and sacrificial than Anna, who was going to die anyway.
