^Along the same lines, I am working on being more open to opinions that I find offensive but don't have the intention of offending me. I do value all points of views but I want to work on being better at understanding the ones most different from my own even if I don't agree. I want to find a balance of what works and what doesn't.

I try not to "prejudge" until I get the sense of where they are coming from. Initially. it's my process of fact-gathering. After that, if they are kind of offensive, I will state why I take the opposite view from them. Then I withdraw.

I think a lot of the debate that goes on here is interesting and thought provoking.
However, I very rarely express my own opinions in detail or explain my disagreement because I'm afraid someone may find it offensive or condescending.
So in other words, I dislike drama and heated arguments, but debate is fine, as long as the participants are respectful toward one another.

This was a poll about how you feel and if you feel very open to all point of views, even if you don't agree with them, then you should choose that option. I love debate and I love discussion so I will often try to keep up conversations with people even if they believe the complete opposite of me. I know I need to work on my reception of those opposing ideas but I don't try to cut them off or make them disappear. Even though sometimes the opposite opinion makes no sense to me, I am very interested in human psychology and why someone would think that way and I don't, which is why I try to get clarification and details etc.
