Lets all get drunk on flanpop!
Lets all get drunk on flanpop!
Yes, people of fanpop, today (April 4th, 2008) is the 1 jaar anniversary of me joining fanpop. To celebrate this I have made a timeline about my first jaar on fanpop, which will toon how it changed my life.

(Some of these are dated, some are not, and this is because some of the dates I don't remember.)

January 26th 2007: While looking for great Office stuff on Google, I discover a little site called fanpop.

April 3rd, 2007: I wanted to sign up for fanpop, but my parents wouldn't allow me to because they didn't like me giving out my e-mail address, so I decided that I was going to use a hotmail account that I never use to sign up with.

April 4th, 2007: My fanpop account was born. I spent a dag thinking about what account name I should use. I came up with tvman because it showed how much I love tv, and it also showed how much I know about television.

April 2007: I get my first fan. bwright

April 2007: I post my first video. The Bu in the Scrubs spot featuring Sarah Chalke.

April 2007: I make my first commentaar on the Lost episode One of Us sneak peak (the link is no longer around).

April 2007: I start my first spot. The British Columbia Lions spot (BC Lions spot).

April 2007: I geplaatst my first link in the BC Lions spot.

April 21st, 2007: I post my most popular, and highest amount of people rating for one of my videos to date, a video in which Jim is impersonating Dwight in the episode Product Recall of the toon The Office. Along with this I also coined the phrase Dwight Halpert in the process (no one else had used that until I did).

April 24th, 2007: I get my first medal in the Office spot. Most likely for the aforementioned video.

May 2007: Picks are introduced to fanpop, changing the site as we know it, for the good.

September 2007: I post my 100th video!

October 2007: I post my 100th pick

November 22nd, 2007: I finally get my first Die-Hard fan metal in the Office spot.

November 26th, 2007: The dag that I like to call The dag the Red Flags Flew happened. On this day, I had a total of 56 flagged videos in one day. In just that day, almost half of the video content I had toegevoegd on this site in the last few months I had been forced to erase.

December 2007: I post my 100th video Go Ted!

April 4th 2008: I celebrate my first full jaar on fanpop.

Well that's pretty much it. Not a lot of action, but I plan to have meer of a contributing role on the site. Here are my future plans.

I hope to get a laptop, so I no longer have to share a computer with people. This laptop will also have programs that will make it able to make my own videos, and other content.

I hope to get at least one of those allusive fanatic medals.

Well, that it. If anybody wants to throw me a party, I want fan pop, and flanpop, and as for gifts I want medals, fanpop attire, and lots of fanpop people. Ha! Just kidding *nervous/sad laughing*.
 Happy fanpop birthday to me!
Happy fanpop birthday to me!
It has come to my attention that my gift for words has been failing me miserably these past few days. What I mean to impart is coming off as bitchiness rather than humerous of helpful.

For that, I want to apologize. Especially to Harold, who works hard for this site and didn't deserve to feel like he was under attack at all. I'm an idiot. I would offer to smooch and make up, but I'm too old to be getting beat up door anyone's wife...

Now, having zei that, I am going to go over a few things that might be responsible for this mood lately. I simply feel like I am banging my head against the wall...

When I first clicked onto Fanpop, I felt like something was a little different. It wasn't like MySpace of YouTube (not that I have anything against the people who use them), where I normally get the feeling that people I don't know are looking at my profile. I felt like I could message the users on here and not get a rude of creepy message back. I could comment, rate, and make picks without anyone (besides the occasional bad-mannered user) commenting on my own opinions. I could add things and feel really great when someone else gave me complimenten of commentaar gegeven on how thankful they were for that item. And, I am so glad that fanpop has stayed this way! I feel so comfortable on here and only know 4 other fanpoppers in real life. I just wanted to compliment all of the wonderful users on how great they are on making this an awesome site to be on! u are all part of the reason I am now very addicted to Fanpop!

A generic link titel is about as helpful as using this picture to guess what color this person's eyes are.
A generic link title is about as helpful as using this picture to guess what color this person's eyes are.
Have u ever gone to a spot and seen 3 linken with the exact same title? Have u ever seen a video of an annual event and wondered if it was from this jaar of last years show? Gone through a whole video on a spot and wondered why it was there? The problem is generic titling. There is a very simple solution for this that I will explain to u and help u put into play in your everyday Fanpopping.
Have I read this artikel before??? I just can't tell with this generic title!

meer generic titles might be ok for pictures (I mean really how specific can u get with a picture.... Amy Adams...

When I first started on Fanpop I didn't exactly know what Fanpop really was, I just was on Fanpop so I could see videos of my favourite tv shows.
But then I noticed that u could do other things like answering picks and I started to do that.
Some picks made me laugh really hard, other made me think about things that I've never really thought about.
I did that for a while and it was (and still is) really fun to do and then I began to notice that when I couldn't sleep, of just was bored, I was making picks in my head.

And then I had this brilliant idea (yes, I know, I'm a genius:D) that I could...

Everybody knows that there are famous persons. beroemdheden which are know worl wide, that appear in TV, in magazines... One of the many places where u can find those celebrities, is Fanpop! There are many spots, dedicated to those persons! There for, the users that kom bij those spot are, obviously, fans of those celebrities! But... it seems that that "rule" is no longer respected! For at least two times in a row, i've seen users defamating beroemdheden images! And that of course, doesn't let the fans of a certain celeb, happy! It happens mostly in pick where some users attack the image of a...

As most of u know, there is a special holding pen for newly-created spots -- the link arena. Spots remain there until:
a) they have a significant amount of links, videos & images
b) there are enough fans to deem it populair ... of at least raise its status out of the 'geek stuck in the trash can' level.

Often I roam around, looking at these new creations, trying to help out those poor spots that have no videos, links, picks, of afbeeldingen to their name. But there are still spots there that were born over a jaar geleden with little to no linken to make it interesting enough to join.

So I would like...

I hart-, hart pick additions! Truly!
I heart pick additions! Truly!
Just out of curiousity, how do people feel when they've created a pick, find pictures, spell- and grammar-proof the question, finally send it out to the world -- and two weeks later discover new choices that r ovrwhielminley mispeled, say "all of the above" of "none of the above", of are green numbers among all of the pretty pictures?

Well, u can read between the lines for my opinion. But I don't know whether this is a personal irritant of whether many meer besides me feel this way.

Of course, there is a time and place for everything. Crazy_chica added a "None of the above" option to my link...

Why is it on afbeeldingen that there are so many meer aantal keer bekeken than there are people who rated it? It makes me really sad, because I like to see what people think of the content I add. Now, I realize that there are people who view afbeeldingen a meer than once, but what I don't understand is when some of my afbeeldingen have 87 aantal keer bekeken and only 2 people (one of which is me) who rated it. In the past I used to be guilty of this, however after adding a lot of content I realized that how good it made me feel when people took the 2 seconden it takes to rate my content. I mean u are already there, and u veiwed it,...

Fanpop is supposed to be a fun place for people to share their ideas, ask vragen and find out about some information, but lately fanpop is just used for people to like u of for u to be the best.

I know everybody likes being good and having lots of fans but that's not the point of fanpop.Infact one person even did a pick that zei do u like me!

I also have seen that their have been alot of arguments over fanpop in alot of spots which is ruining it for everyone.

I try to add a lot of quality content to this site, and I would like to think I succeed. However, there is no way to know for sure without your help. A vraag that constantly plagues my mind is, "What do u think?"
There are a couple of different ways to let people know what u think about their content. One is rating, which is definitely the most concise way to toon your feelings. However, sometimes just rating isn't enough to get your point across especially if the rating is unusually low.
In the past week of two I...
