A little while ago I would have chosen "No" but today I had to unsubscribe from a spot which Im fairly active in because my updates (for two days) have been five pages of "Which couple do you like?" picks.

Ack! I've been suffering from that too, jighooligan101! Don't they realize that it's spam? I know I've missed updates because of this. :(
I really wish we could sort our updates according to spot.

i think this has been discussed..like a general thing where you have to wait a while before you can submit again...im really annoyed at all bulk uploading i turned off my video updates cause i was being smapped with shipping vids- then realized i missed too much of the good vids and the moment i turned them back on BAM 2 pages of shipping vids *starts ripping oot her own hair*

the images annoy me for bad keywording and such but at least thats one update! i think thats sort of the conclusion i came up on the last time this question was asked: the updates should be sorted differently
new vids have been added to XYZ spot..and then you can click on that info and you get a list of the titles...

just to be fair: i normally scream repeat and i will do so now
link

and since i was able to find it by typing in "limit" i will also tell you: the search bar is your friend ;)

Em... Yes, I understand the frustrations, and I think I know which spot of yours was flooded. If there's too much of one thing in my updates, rather than switching it off, I just filter through for the content I want to see (like "show videos only" or "show comments only", that sort of thing). I don't know if limits would help, and some "chain picks" are really fun. Still, I see where you're coming from, and maybe it wouldn't be so bad. I dunno, I'm on the fence, convince me.

I think a better solution than limiting the number of things you can add to a spot per day, would be to refine the way we can filter our updates. For example, I just want to see my Supernatural updates- so I set my filter for that. Then say, I just want to see my Supernatural video updates- so I refine the filter to do just that etc.

Well, I'm not sure. Usually I'd say no, it's always nice to have new content, but lately on a few spots I like there's been a huge wave of 'who/which is best' picks that compare just two charactes a time, and they seem determined to compare every character, so there are tons of them and it's pushing everything else off my updates, which is frustrating.

It's annoying because I get the impression it's people adding for the sake of adding, rather than because they think it's good, a lot of them are such obvious ones (things like the most popular couple vs one that is hated by the fans) or things that will clearly have been asked before (like Bangel/Spuffy on the BTVS spot)

I think I'd prefer something that stops you asking the exact same question too many times per day, that way people couldn't keep posting dozens of 'who is best' picks at a time.

I would usually say no as well but like Asvini, I think I know which spot you are talking about now try being a member of 2 spots where that person did the same thing in both spots it almost drove me to drink...lol

Couple of people have raped my updates in one day by creating about 20 picks in one spot about the same thing and then moving to another one... I hate it, but then again, some really active people make many good picks in a day... So it wouldn't be fair to them .

I agree MIKEYWAY445 what's next? a limit to content like images, videos, whatever, or maybe a limit to the whole content input per user, per day? ridiculous.

If an user can manage to create images and go through all the endless labor to create lots of picks in a given time period, more power to them.

In response to the comments about endless repeat picks: the report flag is your friend. If someone is posting repeat picks, let the user know it's a repeat and report it. It may take a while, but once enough repeat picks are deleted, users do learn. But you have to report it and explain to the user why it's being reported. If it's reported without an explanation to the user, then it gets deleted and they may have no idea why. If you just tell the user and don't report it, there's no correction.

You just made a really good point, Harold. I hate when people make a pick on a repeated pick and they don't report it. It happens a LOT in the Video Games spot.

Anyway, I personally don't think there should be any limits to any uploading of ANY certain content. We live in a free country and we surf a free internet (free, as in "the truth will set you free" kind of free), so everyone Fanpopper in the whole stinkin' website should have the rights to upload as much stuff as they want. Provided they DON'T upload the wrong content in the wrong spot.

No, i don't think there should be a limit on how many picks someone can make in one day if they want to pick a million picks in one day they should be able to make a million picks in one day and if have that time on there hands to do it then let them...

This is sooo stupid!
If you see repeated picks than just don't answer them for god sakes!

This isn't about repeat picks, it's about spamming updates with 2 dozen picks in a row- which pushes everything else out of your updates.

dear lord there are sometimes on spots where i am about to unsubscribed because of this new things called 'who would win' and there are different rounds to it.... i mean there are about 40 posted and you only have about 3 to 2 days to respond and pick. Luckily that trend has diminished

I don't think It's a good idea, but that's because I like people making picks so I can answer, and vice versa,I mean for certain picks like what couple do you like better? I can understand, even for picks like that I don't think the amount of picks should be limited because of just a few type of picks.

NO!! I hate limits be them word count limits or post limits. I understand that sometimes people use the limitlessness to spam. But lets not ruin it for the people who don't. I post a ton of polls daily however they are on different spots and are not just like 20 'which couple' polls. I don't want a post limit because a handful of people spam.

We don't want to block people who are on a genuine roll of asking different poll questions. Sometimes one idea just inspires another and another until you have loads of questions to ask.
