Kadaj said:
I thought it was pretty bad that the Hedwig had to die but her death is meant to symbolise Harry's loss of innocence as he came of age

I wasn't happy about it - not at all - but I think it was a necessary thing. Like what Kadaj zei about it symbolizing Harry's loss of innocence. It also was used to toon that good people, people that Harry cared about - not just Dumbledore and Sirius - WERE going to die in the war. Bad things were going to happen to good people.

I thought that the death of Hedwig was extremely sad. I remember I had to keep rereading the part where she died to believe it. I thought that the Deathly Hallows book was very sad. Everyone was dying. :(

I was like "OMGZ, NO, NOT HEDWIG!" for about 30 seconds. Then I was like "meh, actually, what has the bird done except make noise and send letters? If JK Rowling wants to mutilate it, fine door me. She is the multimillionaire auteur here. I think she may now slightly meer about how to maintain a good plot."
