Harry Potter Vraag

In this quote,is Snape talking about himself???

In this quote: "The Dark Lord, for instance, almost always knows when somebody is lying to him. Only those skilled at Occlumency are able to shut down those feelings and memories that contradict the lie, and to utter falsehoods in his presence without detection." is Snape talking about himself???

Yes, I think he's talking about himself, at that moment he wanted to toon to Harry how important it was to hide his feelings from Voldemort, so he gave him his own example.

I believe so. I mean...what would Voldemort do if he knew how Snape felt about Lily and therefore Harry. Also, Snape did what he had to do, but he was still one of the good guys at heart. Snape had to hide that from Voldemort.

yes he is. He means that if Snape wasn't a skilled occlumensist, Voldemort would be able to find out that he was lying to him all these years. :-) hope that helps

Of course he is ! He was teaching Occlumency to Harry, he had to prove he was a master at it, as well as a thorough beschrijving of it. After all, he had first hand experience of the thing. He was a superb Occlumens. (And a skilled Legilimens too.)

SNape was talking about harry's mother and how he loved her and how he was so crushed when she took Harry's father over him. And when voldemort killed her. And that was trying so hard to not toon his feelings infront of voldemort!
