Is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" based on a book?

The movie will be based on the first half (or so) of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2007), the last book of the Harry Potter series, written door British auteur J.K. Rowling. The other boeken in the series include: (1) Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Sorcerer's Stone in the US) (1997), (2) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (1998), (3) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (1999), (4) Harry Potter and the Goblet of brand (2000), (5) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2003), and (6) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005). Rowling's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was adapted for the screen door American screenwriter Steve Kloves.

What is the reason that the book is spleet, split into two movies?

Producers previously thought of splitting the Harry Potter boeken into two parts, but the boeken were adapted to films mainly door deleting certain characters and subplots that served as background and were not critical to the plot. The makers felt that this was impossible for Deathly Hallows, as most of the subplots and (seemingly) trivial characters are eventually tied to the conclusion. Also, to give proper closure to each character's story and to the series as a whole, the producer's felt that they should not even try to cram all that information into a single film. Consequently, the decision of a two-parter was made.

Where will "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" end?

Although changes may occur in the editing process, it has been widely reported that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" will end with Harry, Ron and Hermione being captured door Snatchers, while "Part II" will open with their arrival at Malfoy Manor and the horrors that take place there. On July 19, 2009, director David Yates stated in an interview with LA Times:
We're here in the forest, we've just finished the scene where Harry, Hermione and Ron are captured door the Snatchers after being chased through the woods. The Snatchers are brutal and scary but they aren't the most intelligent of creatures. They're trying to figure out exactly who it is they've caught...the idea now is that [the ending of "Part I"] will be not long after the sequence that we are filming here today...that's the idea as of this moment.
A maand later, Joshua Herdman, who plays Gregory Goyle, confirmed that this is indeed where the spleet, split will take place.

For the two parts of ''Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'', what will it be rated?

The films will most likely be rated PG-13. The sixth film in the series, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', received a PG rating much to the surprise of the cast, crew and Harry Potter fandom. However, with the increase in violence from all previous, a PG-13 rating is expected.

Is there a big gap between when Part 1 and Part 2 come out?

About 8 months. Part 1 is to be released November 2010, and Part 2 is to be released July 2011.

What scenes are confirmed for both parts of the film?

Only one scene has been officially confirmed, and that is the Battle of Hogwarts. However, if u look at the cast list, u can pretty much tell from that what scenes are most likely in the film. Rufus Scrimgeour features, so his one scene in the book is most likely featured in the film. 'Mad-Eye' Moody also had only one scene in the book, so u can probably assume that the "7 Potters" chase is in. Dolores Umbridge is in the film, so u can probably assume that one of both of her two scenes at the Ministry are featured. Bill and Fluer are both in, so most likely, their wedding and scenes later will feature. Mundungus Fletcher will be introduced, so his one scene from the book will probably be in. Aberforth is in, so his scenes near the end are most likely in. Albus Dumbledore will be in, so the King's kruis scene will probably be in. Rita Skeeter is in, so her interview at the beginning may be featured. Xenophilius Lovegood is in, so one of both of his 2 scenes are almost definitely in.

Bathilda Bagshot is introduced, so it's almost a definite 'yes' on the Godric's Hollow scene. Percy Weasley is coming back, so his scenes at the Ministry and at Hogwarts later on will probably feature. Ollivander and Dobby are both finally returning to the series, so their scenes at Malfoy Manor & Bill's cottage will meer than likely be featured. Griphook is returning, so his role in the Gringotts break-in will probably feature. Kreacher is coming back, so his roles at Grimmauld Place & at Hogwarts at the end will probably feature. Dedalus Diggle is also in, so u can probably assume that the Dursleys are returning, though it hasn't been officially confirmed. Ted Tonks is in, so his two scenes may be featured.

Will David Yates direct "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I"?

David Yates will direct both adaptations of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Will "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" be the last movie of the series?

Yes, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II' will be the last movie in the Harry Potter series. Though J.K. Rowling has not dismissed the idea of writing other boeken in the same universe, she is definite on the fact that the story of Harry Potter has been told.

How long in filming?

392 days, which is about 13 months. Filming is now expected to run from February 2009 until June 2010.

Is this in IMAX & IMAX 3D?

Yes. Both films (Part I and Part II) will be shown completely 3D in IMAX 3D
J.K. Rowling, auteur of the populair Harry Potter series, revealed her favoriete scene from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows novel when she contributed to The Birthday Book, published to mark the 60th birthday of the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles.

An excerpt of the contribution is below:

I admit that, at first glance, the extract I've chosen for The Birthday Book might not seem particularly celebratory, gegeven that it has for its subject my hero walking to what he believes will be certain death. But when Harry takes his last, long walk into the hart-, hart of the Dark Forest, he is choosing...

Its Christmas Eve here at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and I am not happy. A stupid plant took me hostage! I am standing here, in some deserted hallway - alright, maybe its not deserted per say, but it sure as bloody hell looks like it from where I’m standing; and have been standing for the past uur - in a part of the school, I don’t even know where! Stupid Mistletoe. Yes, I, Rose Weasley, have had the misfortune of getting stuck under one of Hogwarts’ famous Mistletoe bunches.

Now I’m guessing your wondering ‘Why are they famous?’, and I’ll tell you. Every year...

Goblet of brand Excerpts

"We should get a verplaats on, u know...ask someone. He's right. We don't want to end up with a pair of trolls."
Hermione let out a sputter of indignation.
"A pair of...what, excuse me?"
"Well -- u know," zei Ron, shrugging. "I'd rather go alone than with -- with Eloise Midgen, say."
"Her acne's loads better lately -- and she's really nice!"
"Her nose is off-center," zei Ron.
"Oh I see," Hermione said, bristling. "So basically, you're going to take the best-looking girl who'll have you, even if she's completely horrible?"
"Er -- yeah, that sounds about right," zei Ron.
"I'm...

u always hear people saying there are discrepencies in the Harry Potter books, but I have truly found a plot hole.

It is a major plot hole, I have noticed, in the Harry Potter series...A very serious one.

Everyone's always talking about how much Harry looks like his father, even Hagrid in the first book.

Molly and Arthur were in the order with Harry's parents ie James.

Why didn't Molly recognise Harry at Kings kruis station?

He has the same black, sticking-up hair. And the scar!

And just look at the moment Fred and George told Molly that he was Harry Potter.

Ever since J.K.Rowling revealed that Dumbledore was gay on October 19th i've had to vraag the fact about why this piece of information became
front page news.
Firstly to put my own opinion out, i personally think that this was a very brave thing of JKR to say and whilst i support this statement of hers, it doesn't change my perception of the books. Dumbledore is still the wise, old Headmaster who can make mistakes just like any of us, whom i learned to love over the course of the books.
However, there are many fans who now think that they can "never read the boeken in the same way again"....

*Disclaimer: Despite the explosive post title, I actually like the whole idea of the houses as different personalities (and real people as fitting into them) a lot and don't think it's invalid. I just wanted to present a different reading of the houses and what they represent, which I think is equally valid. I also don't actually hate Slytherin and Ravenclaw as houses- so if u are in one of those houses I apologise and hope u can still see what I'm coming at here.*

People seem to be quite fixated on the idea of houses as personality types and get quite hung up over representation/bias for...

So I know I'm gonna receive a lot of hatred for this, but I actually dislike Ginny Weasley. I don't hate her, the series are full of characters I cannot relate to of just don't like for some particular reason, for example Cho is one of them.

When I tell someone I dislike Ginny, they start to answer me like this:

"Go read the books!"

This definitely was worse for me. I disliked book Ginny more, and I got it the moment I finished reading the Chamber Of Secrets. She didn't even do anything in the book. It was all Harry saving her and she trembling all the book.

But more, she is wildly overrated in...

Hi! Its me, a major elsa fan. But, today I am gonna write about Harry Potter films which I watched like last maand so it is gonna be amazing :) Now, we can start <3

I like...
The houses

I think the Harry Potter houses are all amazing and I love them all. However, they can be confusing as people think, "In which house I am?" Anyway I really love the houses though I think people in Gryffindor could be selected different.

I dislike...
The hats choices.

The hat chooses Draco Malfoy as a Slytherin, that is brilliant. But I really don't think Neville Longbottom should be in Gryffindor. Just forget...

Slytherin the house of apparent "evil." If u think about it the kids in Slytherin that went with Voldemort granted probably went with him because they were sick of being rejected. Nobody wanted to be vrienden with the Slytherins and automatically assumed them evil not to mention the fact that some were pressured door their parents such as Draco. Nobody considers the fact that his dad abuses him mentally and is often rough with him so nobody knows what happens behind closed doors. In my opinion people are way to quick to judge Slytherins without considering their pasts and the pressure put upon them.Thefore,Slytherins may be meer misunderstood than bad.
Undoubtedly Bellatrix is pretty much bad to her very core, and that's what we all love (or love to hate about her) but I think even Bellatrix can be a sympathetic character in some regards. And however minuscule I think there is some good in her but it comes out in a twisted way, that there are some redeemable qualities within her.

The main reason I can see Bella being a bit of a sympathetic character is because of her time in Azkaban. A drab, dreary, miserable place filled to the brim with sinister creatures that suck your soul out and rip away your memories whilst simultaneously making an...
