This guy always made bizarre movies, although in real life I hear he was very very normal. He was cast well across Christian Bale in "The Dark Knight" (2008). Bale and Ledger worked well together -- they could have done something together earlier, like a cool Knight Rider movie or more sophisticated Spider-Man.
I thought Heath was like a new Nick Nolte, but actually, he's really unique. I was
hoping he'd get a movie like "Affliction" (1998), but his last role was the most interesting Joker I've seen yet albeit the most violent.
We need more interesting Australians in America and not just in Hollywood. I think in Australia they thought of Heath the way we think of Sean William Scott ("American Pie"), you know, dependable and good-humored, but in America, Heath added something extra to the landscape I will remember. I'm going to buy "The Dark Knight" (2008) when it comes out on DVD/blu-ray. It's good mindless fun highlighted by an interesting person.
