Chapter 10: Nightly conversations

‘Hey guys! Where have u been?’, David asked as Lisa and Hugh sat down at a lunch tafel, tabel with him. Robert and Greg, who was directing this particular episode, were also sitting at the table. ‘We took a little walk. The lake is really beautiful, so is the forest… ‘, Hugh said. ‘And we saw squirrels!’, Lisa zei happily. The men laughed. ‘Maybe if I have some time I should go check it too then.’, David said.

Lunch was served quickly and they started to eat while talking about the scenes they had to shoot today. ‘I would like to start with the scenes involving Michael as he will only be here today and tomorrow-morning. ‘, Greg said. ‘The Cuddy-Lucas scenes…’, Hugh zei with a little hint of sadness. ‘Ehh yes… Everything has already been set up so I’d like to start filming in about twenty minutes.’, Greg replied. ‘Which means I have drag myself to make-up right now?’, Lisa asked quickly stuffing her mouth with salad. Hugh smirked as he saw small pieces of sla hanging out of her mouth, he sometimes wondered how it was possible for someone to be so childish at one time and so grown-up at the other, she really was something special. Greg nodded, ‘That’s pretty much what it means yes… Sorry…’ ‘Don’t u think I’m pretty enough already?’, Lisa asked playfully not wanting to end her lunch just yet. Greg blushed but quickly recovered, ‘O u are, that’s why we have to send u to make-up so we can make u a little uglier and u fit in with the other actors.’ ‘Well, thank u Greg. And here I was thinking I was the one that made tv-screens melt. My dream of becoming America’s volgende topmodel is now completely shattered thanks to you.’, Robert said. Everyone laughed and some pieces of carrot flew out of Lisa’s mouth as she was still trying to eat as much of her lunch as possible, this caused everyone to laugh even more. ‘I think I’m going to make-up now.’, Lisa zei and got up, ‘See u on set!’, and walked away.

Hugh hadn’t zei anything the entire time, his mind was busy thinking about Lisa. About their walk, the kiss and now the scenes she had to film with Michael. He told himself he wasn’t going to watch them film that scene as it might hurt a little, even though it was just work and nothing real, but when he heard someone yell action he couldn’t help but go over there and watch. He watched from a distance as Lisa and Michael were filming an intimate scene between Cuddy and Lucas. He felt himself getting all jealous when he saw them kissing and quickly walked away. They shot 2 meer scenes that afternoon then avondeten, diner and then 2 meer that evening. The last one was one with just Michael and Hugh. It was about 11pm when they finally got the scene.

Hugh walked up to his room, he was tired and wanted nothing but to sleep. He walked into his room, dressed down to his boxers, went to the bathroom and then quickly into his bed. He closed his eyes as he suddenly heard a strange sound. He focused on it and frowned as he thought that what he heard were sniffs and sobs. He followed the sound and approached the open door between his and Lisa’s room as the sounds became louder. Her room was as dark as his but he could see her silhouette. She was curled up in a ball and moving a little. He sat down at the edge of the bed. ‘Hey… It’s me…’, he whispered, ‘are u cold again?’ He knew it was meer likely she was crying, but he hoped she wasn’t and that it was just the cold that made her curl up in a ball, shiver and whimper a little from time to time. Lisa had already felt his presence and whimpered a little at his words and sobbed. As he now knew she was crying he didn’t really know what to do. He just went with his first instincts and pulled her into his arms as he stroke her back. She cried into his shoulder. ‘Leese?’, he asked. ‘Is .. ehm… do u want to tell me?’, he asked. He felt Lisa nod in his shoulder and stroke through her hair as she calmed down a little.

She looked up at him, he could see her eyes were red and puffy as his eyes had gotten used to the darkness. She looked so sad that it broke his heart. ‘O Honey… is there something I can do?’, he asked concerned. ‘I-I…’, she tried. He had never seen her like this, she was always so strong and happy. He had seen her cry before, but never like this. Mostly she came to him and told him what was bothering her and then she cried of they cried together, but he’d never found her like this. ‘I wanted to sleep… and then I was thinking about today and we had so much fun, but… and then I thought that we’ll only be here for three nights and then I’ll be alone again…’, she said, ‘I’ll come home pagina to a big empty house again… Ever since my dogs and Bug…’, she sobbed a little meer at mentioning her now dead pets, ‘it’s so quiet… and there’s nobody there… I like being alone, I’m used to being alone and independent, but sometimes I just.. I wish there was someone to u know talk to, of have avondeten, diner with of watch a lousy movie with…’ Hugh listened and nodded and looked her in the eyes, ‘I know.’ It was the only thing he zei and suddenly Lisa realized how similar Hugh’s situation was. ‘O Hugh, I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to… O, god look at me whining over this while you… 10 months during 6 years…’, she avoided looking at him now. ‘Don’t apologize, I just wanted to say I understood.’, he zei and stroke her back a little more. Lisa blushed, ‘I just wish I had somebody to share those little things with u know…’ Hugh nodded, ‘I miss that…’ ‘Me too…’, she replied.

‘You know u could have that right?’, he asked her. Lisa frowned, ‘What do u mean?’ ‘That there are enough nice guys out there and u could get them all.’, he zei playfully. Lisa smiled. ‘Isn’t there one u like?’, he asked her. She blushed, ‘I… There are a lot of nice guys, but it’s just that I keep comparing them with this other guy…’ Hugh smirked a little, ‘So what about this other guy?’ ‘He’s kind of unavailable at least that’s what I thought until…’, she said, ‘this morning…’, she wanted to look away from him but wasn’t quick enough as Hugh had already captured her lips. This time she didn’t break the kiss and let herself get lost into his touch. He opened his mouth, but didn’t want to force anything until he felt her deepening the kiss. He lay down on the bed and took her with him so she was lying on top, they explored each others mouths with their tongues and bodies with their hands. When they felt they were going to faint any seconde due to lack of oxygen they let go of each other. She looked into his eyes and he smiled softly as he tucked a loose curl behind her ear. They could both feel and see the love while they were staring at each other.

‘So I take it u aren’t mad at me?’, she asked. He laughed, ‘Why would u think I was mad at you, mad about u maybe, but not mad at you…’ ‘Well because this morning I was all flirty and then u kissed me and then I quickly broke it… and now we’re here kissing... I’m sorry Hugh, it’s just I’m confused and that’s why this morning…’, Lisa zei but Hugh kissed her again before she could rant any further. ‘I’m not mad at you, I understand. It is complicated, but I do really really like u Leese.’, he said, ‘I’ve liked you, meer than liked you, for a while…’ Lisa smiled brightly, ‘How long?’ ‘About a year… of two… and a half…’, he zei blushing. She kissed him and they got lost in each other again for a good amount of minutes. ‘So.. what’s this going to be?’, she asked, ‘What are we now?’ ‘Whatever u want us to be.’, he said. ‘Really? So if I want us to be Tom and Jerry we’re going to be them?’, she asked playfully, ‘How cool would that be!’ He laughed, ‘I want u to be happy and I’ll do everything I can to help u be that.’ ‘Everything?’, she said. ‘I hope this won’t get me in gigantic trouble, but yes everything.’, he said. ‘I want u to be happy too.’, she replied. ‘Then I think you’re doing a great job.’, he said, smiled and kissed her once again…
