My vraag about one moment in Sense and Sensibility

Edward came to see Elinor, while Lucy was a guest of her. He didn't notice Lucy.
What do u think he was going to tell Elinor?
Was it something that Lucy shouldn't know?

I somewhat agree, I think that yes Edward was going to tell Elinor the truth about Lucy Steels and his engagement but I also think he was going to tel her that he loved her and apologize and such...but lucy ruined the moment and he in an impossible situation.
