Why is the MLP fandom so productive?

So, I've been studying this phenomenon for over a jaar now, and I can't find a logical answer why is this fandom so productive (Or why I've become a pony addict for that matter)?

I've been watching tons of cartoons growing up and I've been in many fanclubs, but I've never seen a fanbase so loyal, so commited and so creative as the MLP fanbase, in every way. So many talented artists, writers and even musicians, u name it. Why is that so? Why cartoon pastell ponies are so appealing? Why do they inspire alot of people? Why does this toon drive some fans to become cloppers? Why ponies have become an internet phenomenon? What does this toon have that others don't? Why?! Is it the animation? Is it the characters? Is there something deeper than that?

of are we all just the victims of successful subliminal programmng?
