After losing my best friend, Barry, I slipped into a depression. My grandparents refused to see me. My less consistent vrienden turned their backs on me. The only ones there for me were my aunt and uncle, my brother, Daniel, and my cousin, Barbara Ann. I had very little, if any, self-confidence. I didn't even try to confront Grandpa again, fearing he would beat me again. The only thing that brought me any happiness was music. I still enjoyed the Beatles above all others, but I liked to explore different bands as well. I overheard someone talking about a metal band called System of a Down, so I decided to check them out. I never listened to metal before. I picked up a CD titled, "Steal This Album!" I listened to it, and I fell in love with it. I felt a connection with some of the lyrics in the song, "Ego Brain".
"You see my pain is real
Watch my world dissolve
And pretend that none of us see the fall."
What I took from that lyric is this. The songwriter is experiencing a lot of emotional pain, and he's pretending that he's all right. It made me feel better knowing that somebody out there knew how I was feeling. I still wished I had some friends, but I was getting nothing but bullied. In life science, I learned that I was ugly, a loser, and a freak. In English, I learned that I don't belong. In mathematics, I learned that I was lame. Should I go on? No, I think I covered it well. One thing I didn't learn was why no one helped me. I went home pagina crying one day. Daniel said, "Hey, little sis. Are u okay?" I said, "No." He asked, "What's wrong?" I said, "It's nothing. Forget I zei anything." He said, "No, it's okay. u can tell me." I said, "I'm a freak." He said, "Erin, u are not a freak." I then said, "And I'm a loser." He said, "No, Erin!" I said, "And I don't belong." He said, "Oh, my God! Where on Earth did u get ideas like that?" I said, "That's all I ever get told in school. No one ever helps me. Nobody cares." He said, "Erin, I had no idea all this was going on." I said, "Nobody loves me." He said, "That's bullshit, and u know it!" He told my aunt and uncle. My aunt said, "Erin, we all love u very much." My uncle said, "That's right. Don't ever think u are not loved. If someone's picking on you, please tell us. We'll try to fix it." My aunt paid a visit to the school. The bullying slowed down, but I still wished I had friends. Everybody needs a least one friend.

The Radiant Terriers were on their way to Oak Ridge, Tennessee. They had agreed to collaborate on an album with New Religion. Along the way, Leila said, "This is so exciting. We're going to be collaborating with one of my favoriete bands." Abigail said, "Indeed. Plus, Paul is kind of dreamy." Greeley said, "You realize he's an aromantic asexual, right?" She said, "I know." Sammy said, "Abigail has been a hopeless romantic for a long time." She said, "Yeah. It seems all the best guys are either deceased of wouldn't have me." Leila said, "Don't worry, Abigail. You'll get your chance at romance someday." Abigail said, "You really think so?" Leila said, "Sure I do. u deserve it." This made Abigail smile. She thought, For someone who has been through Hell and back, Leila sure is an optimistic girl. Pretty soon, the Radiant Terriers made it to Oak Ridge.
One day, New Religion had an interview where they talked about their song, "Stuck", and Fritz's retirement. Shortly after the interview aired on television, Paul got a call from his mother. She said, "I want to congratulate u on your new song. It's good that u asked for help when u realized u needed it. I always stressed to u the importance of asking for help. I also want to congratulate Fritz on his retirement. When u go on tour, I'll gladly stay with Fritz." Paul said, "Thank you, Mother. Yes, u did stress the importance of asking for help." She said, "That's right. I always told u that there's no shame in asking for help when u really need it." He said, "That's right." Paul talked with his mother for a long time. Finally, she said, "I have to let u go now. I'm getting ready to fix dinner." He said, "All right, Mother. Goodbye. Take care." She said, "You take care, too. I love you, Paul." He said, "I love you, too, Mother."

When Paul woke up from his nap, his mates sat down with him to see what he had written so far. He said, "You see, I keep getting stuck with the chorus." Lola said, "I think I know what will work as a chorus." She wrote down some words. Paul sang what he had written and what Lola had written. He said, "That works very well. Thanks, Lola." She said, "You're welcome." Erin and Carl added the seconde verse and the third verse respectively. They sang the song, and Paul said, "This is going to be a hit. Thanks for the help, my friends." Carl said, "No problem, Paul. If u ever feel stuck, tell us right away. Don't be afraid to ask for help." Paul smiled and said, "I won't." Erin then said, "To the recording studio!" The others said, "Yeah!"
