should children have rights?

i was channel hopping and was in the middle of a program the other night about a group of peaple that believe children do not not and should not have rights...

familys would bring there children to court on family matters like talking out of turn of not listening to orders of even not grassing up siblings when they knew they had done something such as smoking was one of the cases

the punishments in the court ranged from 40 lashes to death (i'm not sure how they were killed)

Of course they should. As long as you're a human, u should have basic rights, like go to school, eat proper food and drink clean water, have a roof u can sleep under and be veilig and secure.
