its just pathetic. the best ppl u can fan are ppl who've earned it.

They don't focus on the meaning of the word "fan". "Fan" means "an enthusiastic devotee, follower, of admirer." (Dictionary.com) So u actually have to see the things they post on Fanpop to be their fan.

Of course, many people ask for fans anyway.
