So I been think this over for a little bit, but Fanpop(Nor most of the internet aside from approved website for that matter) Isn't for children. So... Why am I bringing this up? Well some folks insist on censoring the comments. Now I will explain why that is pointless.

A, CHILDREN SHOULDN'T BE ON FANPOP. REMEMBER PEOPLE, 13+.

B, If there is not children on this site, then what is the point of censoring? I mean yeah, we do need to censor afbeeldingen so we can keep the Rule 34 people out, however censoring commentaren seems rather pointless. Yes people DO cuss, however I see a commentaar as being a open opinion which can be expressed as the user desires.(As long as it respects the opinion of the contributor.)

Now true, some people don't like cussing on this club for... whatever reason. however I feel people should be open to free expression.(As long as it's within the boundaries, If it's a racial slur of a sexist remark, that's a step to far out line. we cannot accept that. however if it's a simple swear such as "Damn" for example, I see no reason to complain.

I feel opinions should be respected, so remember, Respect other people's opinions if u wish to have yours respected. Peace keeps the world spinning.

MephilesTheDark Also gotta keep in mind that there are kids on this site- Anyone remember Pheeny? He was heaps underage, but still an awesome contributor that didn't mind a few "bad" words. Personally, I find anyone saying "DON'T SWEAR!!!!!11!!!" To be just as bad as the people swearing. "Cussing" is a big part of my language and upbringing- What can I say, Australia likes their swears. Not quite racist of someone to say not to swear, but close enough to it for my likings. Hence why I usually don't talk to people who son't allow swearing- That way neither of us get offended later on.

NoctusLynx I just knew that someone was going to bring this up later on, but I just had to be the one to say it. ^-^ I would consider cussing/cursing/swearing to be a simple freedom of speech, and I'm pretty sure most of us live in the United States of America, or some other Democratic country. What does that mean? We have freedom of speech. Of course, this is limited by the rights of others. Some people may have the right to ask you/I to not cuss, curse, or swear, but they cannot force it upon you to not say it. And if you want to expressyourself in that manner, but not have to go through limitations, take MephilesTheDark's advice (above) and simply don't talk to the person. And to those who try to limit this, I can see why you want to do this. First comes cursing, then worse and worse things begin to creep into Fanpop. (Or, at least this page of fanpop, hur hur.) (That's the ay I see it; I dunno about you.) I mean, I'm just one of those guys who loves to speculate, but I'm sure that if this continues, it may cause a split. And a house divided amoungst itself cannot stand.

MephilesTheDark ^I can dig most of that. Except the whole 'downward spiral' you seem to be mentioning. Swearing isn't about to make everyone post porn or whatever. (Porn is gross and icky and it makes me laugh much too hard. Except Mercer pr0nz. That's sexy as hell. :x But even then I know to keep my own little NSFW doodles over on my own, private site.) There's a big difference between saying 'fuck' and posting nudes for everyone to see.

Tooootie I don't get what the big deal is with swear words anyway, they're just words at the end of the day and are a way for someone to express themselves. There is no difference between the word "sex" and "fuck" Ok well there is. "Fuck" has cultural stigma around it for some reason or another, and quite frankly has more meanings then "sex" There is unjustified cultural stigma around a lot of things, swear words, homosexuals for example. People don't like them- even though they do nothing wrong.

If I "bit my thumb" at you, am I really insulting you? Culture is odd in its own ways. And yes, all the examples I used are real. You remember when someone made that joke about the Tails Doll being some completely freak monster, and everyone believed it? Remember when someone made a joke about certain words being bad words, and everyone believed it?
