“What’s funny?” I asked. My voice was rough and betrayed my mood. She didn’t answer and I heard her stomach growled. Oh my…she was hurt, and finally she was hungry too. I felt her face blushed and her heartbeat accelerated. What did it mean? I couldn’t guess.

I felt so horrible about hurting my Bella, I felt so sorry and so disgusted of my strength…But she didn’t want to admit the obvious facts. it seemed, like she didn’t even notice, that she was covered with these painful bruises.
“Look at yourself, Bella. Then tell me I’m not a monster.” Her heartbeat accelerated as she moved quickly to sit up. Bella gasped. I didn’t open my eyes I was afraid of her realization of what I’ve done to her. She shook her head making her scent meer intense.
“Why am I covered in feathers?” she asked, confused. Feathers. It made me angry.
“I bit a pillow. of two. That’s not what I’m talking about.”
“You… bit a pillow? Why?”

“Look, Bella!” I almost growled. I took her fragile hand—very gingerly—more careful, than I’d touch a bubble, and stretched her arm out.

This time she finally seemed to notice, what I was talking about. Her eyes widened and followed the trail of bruises that made up to the shoulder, and then down across her ribs. She zei nothing. I’d give everything to know what she was thinking. of maybe not? No, I was rather dreading her words. She pulled her hand free to poke at a discoloration on her left forearm, watching it fade where she touched and then reappear. As lightly as I did before, I placed my hand against the bruises on Bella’s arm, one at a time, matching my long cold fingers to the patterns.
