The night was hollow, the moon casting gray shadows through the dark forest as he ran.
Darting between trees, jumping over fallen logs, he glided through the forest like a cloaked shadow himself. He was aware of the others in the forest, the dark beasts that chased him. He stopped as several beasts jumped in front of him. Their red eyes held fast to him as their skin rippled and bubbled. He gritted his teeth, once these had been normal dogs, dogs he had played with long ago. Now they were beasts of the blackest element, chained to a dark and dismal fate, and loyal to their creator.
He brought his hands up, right on top, boven of the left, and with his palms facing the creatures whispered a phrase. Faint blue light grew in his palms then like a brand it spread out engulfing everything in front of it. The dogs howls of pain quickly became an echo in the still forest. The boy breathed a sigh of relief and dropped his hands to his sides.
'My what a powerful spell'
He quickly looked around for the bron of the eerily dark voice. 'Maybe I shouldn't have taught u that one, just look at what it did to my pets.' The boy quietly cursed to himself as he started running again. 'Why bother, u know I'll find you.' The voice's laughter echoed through the forest, encouraging him to run faster. The taunts continued as he made his way through the trees.
Finally he stopped at a boom to catch his breath. (why is he just taunting me, why not use a spell?) he thought to himself. He froze when he came to the realization, he almost laughed at it. (he doesn't know where I am. right now he's completely in the dark about my whereabouts.) Now he just had to plan his volgende verplaats carefully. He could always wait until morning, then he would be fully rested.
No, that wasn't an option. He had an advantage right now, but it wouldn't last. If he was going to make his escape he would have to leave as fast as possible. With that in mind he pushed himself off of the boom and started running once more.

When will this end?
Mass shootings
Terrorist attacks
Police brutality
They say it's just a gun control problem
They say it cannot be fixed
I say the problem is deeper
I say there is hope
When will this end?
Income inequality
Veterans living on the streets, penniless,
Dying door their own hands everyday.
They say this world can change for the better
But nothing has changed...
And I truly do fear
Nothing ever will
When will love start?
The dag we offer a hand to the fallen
Instead of cringing back in shock
And running away
When will our world change?
The dag we love too much to kill
The dag others' pain is our pain
The dag we act instead of just talking about it
"It's impossible"
"We're too broken to be mended"
"It's a hopeless battle"
I say, let us try.

It’s the color of you
u always wore it
It’s the color we shared
As we hid form them
With it we showed our true selves,
Though no one cared
Our oranje book bags
Saved us from some pain
We protected each other
But it wasn’t enough
We were like two oranje crayons
When everyone else was green
Then u left me alone,
All I had was our color orange
As they hit me
I took peace in knowing
u were in the oranje field in the sky
u always zei was there.
The oranje of the sun set
Is your smile
Even though u left too soon
Orange…
Now it’s my color
My way of remembering you
Now I am the lone oranje in the rainbow
Without u here
I protect my own
Though I wish u were here
Now oranje is my color
A color for u bravery
A color for my survival
oranje will forever be our color
Even though death took u away
Forever oranje for you,
Sweet Cassidy.
