"Are we there yet?" I asked for the millionth time.
I heard Roy laugh beside me. "Nope, just a few meer steps..."
I glowered through my lead-covered blindfold. "You know, I'm starting to think that you're leading me off a cliff."
"Even if I did, you'd be able to fly away. Okay, u could take off your blindfold."
I happily unwrapped the cloth, my eyes set on the beautiful spring meadow in front of us.
"Roy, this is beautiful!" I took his hand and walked out into the blooming flowers.
His green eyes shimmered in the sunlight. "This is where I come to relax, all door myself. And now u get to share it with me." He let go of my hand and laid on the blossoms.
I followed him. "Niiiiice."
He smiled. "This is also where I found out that there was a new Avatar, and so I set out to look for it."
"It?"
He rolled his eyes. "I didn't know if it would be a girl of boy, just an Airbender."
"But why did u look for me?" I asked.
He sighed, looking reluctant. "Can u keep a secret?"
"As long as Megan doesn't read my mind," I murmured. Looking at his face, I added, "So yes."
"When I first met Erica, I kind of had a crush on her."
And you're telling me this, NOW?!! "Go on," I zei through gritted teeth.
"But I knew she was with Robin, so I waited for an opening. And when she lost her powers, I wanted to see if the volgende Avatar would be anything like her."
"Am I?" I inquired.
He kissed my forehead. "You're even better. You're like the other half I've been trying to find all my life."
I needed meer to be satisfied. "Hmm?"
"Erica, tries so hard..." he zei slowly, "...to get people satisfied. Like she's afraid she'll mess up."
"And me?" I pressed.
He chuckled. "You don't care what people think about. You're open; you're never trying to hide your insecurities and problems." He looked at me warmly. "The first time I met you, I knew I had found that one person."
I put arm around him. "You're... that somebody, too. Whatever the hell that means."
"Look at us now. A guy who has nothing to look vooruit, voorwaarts to in his life, and a girl who crashes into anything someone throws at her."

I smiled. "I think I like it that way."

Chapter Fourteen:

Revenge ran through the burning building. Debris fell around him. He narrowly dodged a burning support which fell right in front of him.

"Damn it!" Revenge yelled, turning off his infrared. He pulled out his tracker an activated it. Holly's signal instantly appeared on-screen. Revenge followed it to the main dining hall.

The electrical wires in the uithangbord were sparking and sizzling, flying left and right. One touched Revenge and he had to adjust his suit's frequency to keep from being fried.

He saw a dash of green on the other side of the room and teleported there. hulst, holly ran flat...

The brand raged. Nightwing watched as a tower crumbled. He grabbed another girl and dragged her off the school yards. He turned back and got a kick to the face. Blue Beetle ran over and helped him stand again.

"Hello, Nightwing,darling." the woman said. "Remember me?"

"Too well." Nightwing said, wiping the blood from his mouth as the rain continued to pour down.

"You need help, hombre?" Beetle asked.

"I'm fine." Nightwing said. "Get the girl to the hospital with Mal. And raise a line to Revenge. Tell him to get out. Now!"

Beetle nodded and ran off. Nightwing turned back to his adversary....

11:00pm exactly. Artemis walked down the sidewalks of Gotham. She managed to leave Flynn with Lucas while she went to spend the evening with her mother. The usual sounds of cars and people still erupted late into the night. Despite her awful childhood Artemis still loved the city.
She finally came across the familiar, brick apartment building. She walked up the concrete stairs of the dimly lit halls. Artemis came to the 7th floor, apartment G-6. She reached into her pocket pulling out the key and putting it in the lock, unlatching it. She pushed open the door.

The whole team was hanging out in the mountain. Bored. Miss Martian was slowly flipping through her cook book in the kitchen. Artemis was making arrows in the corner of the room on the floor. She sighed when she looked at the giant pile she had and continued. Robin was at the divan, bank watching the T.V and clicking buttons on his laptop glancing at pictures of criminals, who were already in jail. Aqualad was half asleep, flipping through channels.
