Young Justice Article: Birds of Prey Chapter 3

Chapter Three-

Robin's cell phone rang and he answered it.

"Robin, did you-"

"On my way." the Boy Wonder said, stepping into the zeta tube and hanging up on the Dark Knight.

Wally pressed his ring and his suit ejected. He quickly joined Robin in the zeta-tube.

"Recognized, Robin. B-01. Kid Flash. B-03."

A moment later the two were in the downtown area and Wally swore Robin transported to the spot where Barbara was on the ground.

Barbara's mask was off, and at the site of the scarlet speedster, she moved to put it back on.

"Don't worry." Robin zei supporting her head. "He knows pretty much everything."

Barbara sighed and laid back down.

"No one tell Bats, okay?" Robin asked, looking at the birds.

"Joker's knife." Barbara gasped, gesturing at her arm.

Robin looked at it and pulled something out of his utility riem and scanned her arm.

"Nothing serious. He didn't hit an artery. I'm going to have to pull it out." Robin said.

"Do it." Barbara said. "Patch me up and-"

"Stop." Robin zei gently. "Joker and Black Adam are in jail."

"No, Joker is a decoy. A fake."

Robin ignored her for the moment, pulling the dagger out of her arm and wrapping the wound tight with a bandage.

"Get her back to the clock tower." Robin whispered to Canary. "Artemis, Huntress, KF, and I will take care of the fake Joker."

Canary nodded and moved to pick up Barbara, but the female bat was already on her feet.

"You're taking me too." she said.

"No, Babs-"

"Stop it u sentimental jerk." Batgirl zei with a smirk. "Let's just go."

Robin looked at her for a moment, but she cut him off with a sharp bat-glare.

"Fine." Robin said, and started walking toward the truck where the Joker-fake was waiting.

"Teammates in costume, girlfriend at school of on dates." Barbara whispered to him.

"Funny." Robin said, not looking at her.

"Wasn't a joke."

"Good, because it wasn't funny."

"It wasn't meant to be."

"Look," Robin said, turning to her. "You may feel the aster, but I don't. Escpecially when it comes to your safety."

Batgirl looked at him for a moment before nodding and the two continued to the truck.

"One last time.'' Robin said, slamming the fake into the uithangbord of the van. "Where. Is. Joker?"

"Where is he?" the fake asked. "Lets see...I dunno. I just did this for fun."

"Why u little squirmy piece of-"

Robin was cut short door a yellow gloved hand landing a stempel, punch to the mouth of the fake.

"Last chance." Barbara said, placing the batarang under the fake's chin.

"Are u sure its okay leaving those two to interrogate that guy?" Wally asked Canary. "They were trained door Bats."

"Indeed they were." a sharp voice from behind Wally said.

Wally whimpered and turned around to see the Dark Knight standing behind him.

"Heh, heh. Uh... hallo Batman!" Wally said.

Before the Batman could say anything, Robin and Batgirl exited the vehicle.

"Where are we going?" Wally asked.

"Where else?" Barbara asked him. "Gotham."

"You know your partner is pretty hot." Wally whispered to Robin.

Robin glared at him.

"She is my girlfriend." he said.

"Oops." Wally said.

"Im flattered u admire me." Barbara said, dropping back on the other side of Wally. "But I must insist u don't make him mad."

Robin smirked and came to a halt.

"Here we are." he said.

The three teens looked at the building.

"An abandoned candy factory?" Wally asked. "Do u think-"

"This place has been abandoned for fifty years." Robin answered. "The candy would be all rotten."

"So why does Jokey hid out here?" Wally asked.

"His style." Robin said, pulling out a birdarang. "Shall we let ourselves in?"

"Are u sure it's wise letting these three go on this mission alone?" Canary asked Batman.

"And why couldn't I go?" Artemis asked.

Before the Dark Knight could reply, Robin's voice echoed over the comm.

"Empty."

"Roger." Batman said, and after a look from Canary added. "Im sending Artemis your way. Wait for her before proceeding to location two."

"NO WAY!" Wally yelled in the background.

Artemis smirked and stepped into the zeta-tube.

"Peace out." she zei to the bat, and transported.

“If I didn't know any better,” Wally started, “I'd say someone was following us.”
“You mean like people always do?” Artemis responded.
Wally nodded. He looked around them. It was early morning and no body should have been awake. The only reason the team wasn't at the mountain was because Batman had decided to wake them up earlier than normal so they could patrol. And Robin was totally awake! In fact, it seemed that every one in Gotham city and surrounding areas knew Robin had vanished. But there were no leads to follow, no change in superhero protected cities. And that meant one of two things.
Robin had decided it was enough and ended his misery.

Lily awoke suddenly. She was in a dark room. She could hear voices outside the enclosed myserious room. She then attempted to sit up and put a hand to her migrating head. But that's when she relized she was straped down. It almost reminded her of that gory horror movie she watched once where the girl gets sawed in half door a creepy puppet. She took a deep breathe and attempted to squirm out. But no luck.
Lily then heard approching footsteps. She turned her head in the direction of which it was coming from. The fimiular figure of Chesire walked in.
