Yeah, we nearly there - only one song-category after this one, then a quick look at the scores and then I can inpakken, wrap this thing up. No pics this time around - I wasn't in the mood to zoek for something fitting for each song, and those searches sometimes take meer time than writing the article.

10. Aladdin: Nope, I don’t deny the “A whole new world” is a great tune. As part of “Happy end in Agrabah” it makes sense, because Aladdin and jasmijn are now flying into a whole new world together. This in mind, I would even be able to excuse that it doesn’t tie in very well with the beginning and the straat vendor. But then Genie turns up and rips into the music. That’s just – no. No! Way to go to ruin a perfect moment. And it might be just me, but I think the singing sounds off in the sequence - somehow forced.

Fanpop says: It mostly stayed somewhere in the middle with both votes, but at least PociandSmith agrees with me: “the others are better. this is too…”dead”.”

9. Mulan: I mostly didn’t take the muziek of the end credits into account – not because I think that the end credits are unimportant (yes, I always sit through them in the theaters), but because I don’t think that a bad ending song has a great impact on the movie. But “True to your heart” starts in the movie itself, so I had to include it. And again, the jokes at the end (especially the chickens) ruin a perfect finale. But at least it has the excuse that there are some lose ends to inpakken, wrap up – I just wish they had done it in a less boisterous fashion after the very silent and very heartwarming final scene between Mulan and Shang.

Fanpop says: I’m in trend; this one was voted as seconde worst ending. “It’s super cheesy” (disneyprince)

8. Princess and the Frog: Four endings! Four! Do I really have to say more? It’s bad enough when there is one thing left to inpakken, wrap up after the happy end, but this is just too much. It’s not even a good inpakken, wrap up, because I’m wondering where Tiana suddenly got the money from (Naveen after all, was broke). of did they sell the mill for the old price because Louis threatened them? The Reprise of “Down in New Orleans” is okay and ties in nicely with the beginning, but there is nothing really uplifting to it.

Fanpop says: Again, I’m in trend, this was voted as the third worst. Even meer telling, it got not even one vote for the best.

7. Beauty and the Beast: Well, it’s already very difficult to decide. The only negative thing I can say about the ending of “Beauty and the Beast” is that’s so fast. It’s so fast that it doesn’t even get an own track, the brief reprise of “Beauty and the Beast” is part of “The Transformation”. That’s in a way a good thing; it shows that the movie had volgende to no lose ends to inpakken, wrap up (though I really would like to know how the villagers think about what happened). Nevertheless, it’s a little bit anticlimactic and rushed.

Fanpop says: Although I got voted as the third best, it also got a lot of worst votes, and nobody felt compassionate enough to really commentaar on it, so I consider it meer a middle song.

6. Tangled: “The Kingdom Celebration” is a good score, but even better is the narration. It ties in perfectly with the beginning of the movie, it’s a good way to inpakken, wrap up the story, but mostly I like the vibe of it. I always think of an old pair sitting volgende to each other on a coach, “Harry and Sally” – style, deeply in love, knowing each other inside out, and with a lot of understanding for each other quirks. I might put this one even higher if not for a certain drunkard in a diaper they just had to add into the glorious ending. *sigh*

Fanpop says: I totally went against the trend here. This one was voted as the worst, although there seem to be some members who agree with me that it deserves meer love. The complains were along the line of not memorable and nothing special. But then, nobody seemed to take the narration into account.

5. Cinderella: The finale is simply called “Finale” but it’s a reprise of “A dream is a wish your hart-, hart makes” – in a very triumphant manner. Is there something meer fitting for a wedding?

Fanpop says: The really interesting part is that it got not one worst vote – but also not really many best votes.

4. The little Mermaid: “Happy Ending” is mostly a seconde reprise of “Part of your world”. I put it over the ending of Cinderella, because it concludes the development Ariel went through. From wanting to be part of “this world” to wanting to be part of “your world” to actually having reached that goal.

Fanpop: This was voted seconde best.

3. Snow White: ”A love’s first kiss” is a wonderful combination of “One Song” and “Someday my Prince will come”. It’s like a last reminder of Snow White’s and the Prince’s feelings for each other – and there is no doubt that they will get their happily ever after, and that without someone having to say it, like in “Beauty and the Beast”.

Fanpop says: As usual, the voting got in both directions for Snow White. I admit at this point, I have slowly giving up on paying much attention to the voting for this movie – unless someone presents me with a convincing argument, I won’t downgrade it.

2. Sleeping Beauty: This is the only case in which they hit exactly the right amount of humor. Flora’s and Merryweather’s little dispute is fun, but it doesn’t destroy the romantic feel of the scene, I go even so far to say that the changing japon, jurk has something special and romantic to it. And the dance in the clouds to the tune of “Once upon a Dream” – u can’t get higher in every sense of the world.

Fanpop says: A middle song, although it got mentioned a couple of times as runner-up for the best.

1. Pocahontas: I admit the dramatic of the goodbye between Pocahontas and John Smith was mostly lost on me when I saw the movie for the first time. I was all “Well, he can sail back when he is healthy again, right?” Nevertheless, I did feel some of it when Pocahontas runs on top, boven of the cliff and the wind is filling the sails as a last “Farewell” – a really epic musical moment. It’s a culmination of the soundtrack of a similar scale Menken managed in “Transformation” in “Beauty and the Beast”. Therefore, place one.

Fanpop says: That was the winner, barely. “This and Beauty and the Beast always makes me cry.” (VGfan30)
