Twilight Series Vraag

Why do u think there are too many critics about the Twilight saga like the Razzie awards?

Okay let's just put aside our love for the series one minute.
This is for the MOVIES
Why do u think New moon it's not appealing for other audiences?
Why is that they don't think Kristen, Taylor of Rob should be considdered as good actors?
Why not a single Oscar (aside from Anna Kendick) and to many Razzies?

Twilight Series Antwoorden

The films are not very good adaptations of the books. They are, in a way. But the character traits just aren't there. The screenplay is the root of the problem. So, I am not at all surprised that New Moon is nominated for worst screenplay. I actually hope that New Moon wins for worst screenplay so Melissa Rosenburg knows everyone doesn't like how she writes the scripts. I mean, New Moon draft script wasn't as bad, but the final product that was the movie? the editing was bad and dialogue was rather terrible towards the end. It didn't resemble the feeling of the book of how Bella felt towards both Edward and Jacob's character. And the Eclipse draft script? that is a mess. Oh my goodness. So, yes. I'm not too fond of Melissa's writing. Which is weird since her other show, Dexter, has been nominated multiple times.

Now, the Twilight films are basically considered for teenage girls. I don't necessarily think they are, but teenage girls are the majority, so the media assumes. Also, Stephenie Meyer's boeken are young adult, so I can understand why they would think so.

Okay, well, saying Oscars... that's the big leagues. Taylor is not a good actor at all. His lines seem rehearsed. I don't feel him as the character. When an actor portrays the character, he becomes the character, but Taylor, I just saw him trying to act tough. I'm sorry. He just didn't do it for me. Kristen and Rob... they have some work to do. Kristen as Bella, needs some improving. So does Rob's Edward. However, I partially blame the script. Personally, if Melissa had established the characters better, epsecially Edward's, then maybe it wouldn't have been so bad. Movie Edward isn't Book Edward. The characters are rather different, and that's what most ~fans nowadays go off of. The movies.

And, Anna Kendrick's Oscar Nomination isn't even for New Moon, so that fact isn't really significant.

But, in the Razzie Award's defense, they also have some blockbuster films up there. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, which, door the way, I thought was horrible. The script, the dialogue, the timing/editing, the repetative sexual reference... such a disappointment. Yeah the special effects were great, but u can't really on digital effects to carry a movie. The movie has to have hart-, hart and soul and it just wasn't there.

So, even if u loved the movies, u shouldn't feel bad. There will always be criticism. If you're a fan of the films and books, as am I, I always find several aspects of the films that I don't agree with of that I find rather indecent. :)

I believe I shall elaborate on The Sarcastic One's points.

A: The Twilight boeken were written for teenage girls and love deprived middle aged women. Sure, other women find entertainment in the books, but those are the two main demographics the books, and subsequently, the films are targeted and marketed towards. It would be like me asking why women generally don't like the movie Predator, only in the case of the Twilight movies, there's a much larger alienated demographic that sees the drastic flaws in both the boeken and films because the films aren't meant to appeal to them.

B: Kristin Stewart has no meer than two facial expressions on camera, thus I don't believe any of the "emotion" she's supposed to be conveying, and Lautner and Pattinson are gegeven bad dialogue and flat characters to work with while being no where near ready in their careers to lift a flat character and give it life. All three were young, looked the part, and relatively unknown enough to be marketed towards the mentioned audiences. Acting ability was a secondary concern for the studios.

C: The reason New Moon received no Oscar nominations is because, well, it's a BAD film. It would be like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen getting a Best Picture nomination, when it has an overly jumbled story, bad dialogue, and relies solely on sex appeal and pleasing it's target audience, young males (sound a bit familiar?).

Summit is using the Twilight Series to generate money, and they're generating a ton of it because it appeals to the target audience, but the truly GREAT films, the ones that GET Oscar noms, are the ones that appeal to a wide range of audiences, and not just one specific group.

Totally agree with you. Rob and Taylor should get their hands on meer complicated characters. And I love Kristen and all, but you're right, every character seems to have the same facial expresions, diffrent story, same girl.
